Let go of expectations, just keep moving forward. Enjoy the process, stop and take the photos, soak up the scenery. We miss some beautiful sights when we focus too hard on the distance or time.
I'm rotating through Olympic weightlifting and running on alternate days. So when I rest, I rest hard. Also if it's been a hot or hard day at work I'll consider the plus and minuses and may just go for a walk. Movement is key.
