I remember the chess match between Karpov and Kasparov back in the Eighties. I had to get the match off the teletype. Two or three moves at a time.

Will I improve faster if I play with opponents on my level or above? I have an account which has 2000 rapid level. My level is nowhere is close 1500 even. Should I play with 2000s without rating?

The general consensus when playing your opponent should be just above you say no more than 200 max. You will learn more.
