@Beth Comunale -- here's a couple of good tips in looking for your first STR! - I would rank these in order of most importance: Cash flow, wealth building, tax write offs and memories. If cash flow is the most important item, then I would try and look for properties with minimum of $2-3K/month in net cash flow (obviously the higher the better), but this is a good "floor" to try and sty above. - Next, I typically like to look at vacation destinations outside of major cities within a 6 hour radius of where I live. I also buy in other parts of the country, but this is usually a good place to start when first getting going. Just in case you want to be a little closer to your STR. - Finally if tax savings is one of the biggest factors: here is a free tax calc to see how much you can save in taxes based on purchase price and capital you put into the property. https://www.striq.com/str-tax-savings-calculator We have more tips for you, but this is a good starting point!
