First tow with my Big Red project
Towed my 8k boat and trailer out of the water on a steep incline. Four low engaged, didn’t break a sweat. My issue was the trans temp when trying to park the boat and trailer in my yard, crept to 220…. I have an aux coooler in place of the OG setup. Does anyone have experience with adding an electric fan? I do not want to relocate the aux cooler. Trans lines are too expensive IMO. Thoughts for factory location setup with electric fan? I have a mag hytech 727-D trans pan, so extra 1.5L of fluid.Its a 47RE trans with highway gears, though when cruising, no issues, just traffic and no air seem to be the nemesis.

@Robert Winkworth fuck man… does it ever warm up there?
Big Red dash and gauges
Moving along… still need to finish a few things, and touch up… then move on to console with cup holders.

@Robert Winkworth yeah, I’m going to have to figure out a way to blank the gaps, but I have some thin aluminum I can cut and maybe paint black or something and clean it up in the one spot… other than that, I think it turned out fairly factory lookingish…. Still need to make the console for cup holders… but we’ll see. Getting close to where I want it. Timing and afc, left. I think I’m done ish after that?

@Robert Winkworth I wish someone would print a 4 pod set, I would have been a lot happier, but I’m not buying a 3D printer and learning all that stuff… should , but not gunna
Gauges installed and prognosis
FP was 20 psi, sustained level driving at 50 mph. Topped out at 24 psi wot up steep 1/4 mile ramp. Gets topped at 1300 during this climb, so not a fan of that, but also not how I would normally drive it, though unloaded also, so could be a bit concerning when I hook a 9k pound boat and trailer behind. Trans temp held steady after warming up to 125-130. Found a fuel leak at the hot rod pump where the rubber boot covers the priming rod for a lack of a better term. Will contact PDD Monday. Seems FP is a bit down, and I still have not installed the adjustable overflow valve yet. Thoughts?

@Robert Winkworth I have a 1.9l aaz Vw motor which is all mechanical. Would this timing gauge work on it also, maybe missing an adapter?

@Robert Winkworth damn
Big Red project moving along
New headlights, fluidyne trans cooler and lines installed, heat exchanger bypassed and blocked off. Gauges install tomorrow along with tail lights. Test drive went ok… had to add about two and a half gallons after installing the mag tec 727-D pan (has a port for temp sensor properly placed for gauge reading) Boost under sustained load at 45 mph level ground 3-4 psi… wot up fairly steep incline topped out at 25-26 psi at 70 mph. 0-60 ran 15.8 sec… now AFC or adjust timing? I will of course wait for the rest of the gauge install before moving forward on performance mods.

Btw- 3k springs 055 dv 95 gph lift pump bhaf and 4” exhaust took the 3500 dual wheel from 18.8 0-60 to 15.5… while that isn’t exactly true… no records were taken until before 055 to after 055 while the rest remained a constant

I don’t want to do any more performance mods before checking info displayed by gauges… mostly FP, EGT, and ensure trans temps not exceeding 210 degrees f
Setting FP with Adjustable Overflow Valve
Hot Rod Lift pump 95 gph, 3k springs, 055 DV's everything else is mostly stock... what kind of pressure should I be running?
