This is my obs ford Im building a full frame from scratch for it with 1 3/4 tubing It's getting an LSD 8.8 rear with 3.08 gears and triangulated 4 link Dana 44 front axle Ve pump Cummins with ratman hotrod parts. BD manifold, home ported heads, p pump injectors that I'll have to adjust the pop pressure on. Head studs and an MLS gasket. Going to deck the block to bring compression up I think if I have .020 piston to head clearance ill have something close to a static 18.5:1. Colt cam big stick with matching springs and 24v tappets I have plans to balance and lighten the pistons rods and crank with a polish afterwards I've purchased a cerakote kit with all of their specialty coatings for the engine including piston top coat which is heat rejecting and the ultra slick for the skirts. I think the piston top coat will work awesome on the heads and inside the ports too to keep heat in the exh and out of the coolant. And high temp manifold coating to keep the manifold and turbo from going orange. The last coating is a heat transfer coating which is supposed to increase heat emmisivity to improve efficiency of coolers like rads or intercoolers. Might be snake oil idk I'll probably use an he351 turbo 4l80 trans with a Quikr controller Going to keep the hydro boost that came with the ford and see if I like it I've heard mixed reviews but I have all the parts to swap it Got the 4 link brackets cut by umake.ca kinda like sendcutsend in Canada The goal is a fun 12v that I can daily and get good mileage out of. I've put a heavy priority on keeping things light If anyone has any experience with MLS gaskets I'd like to hear your story. I know I need to have a tighter finish to get a seal. I had one on my small block and dump all of the guts on the ground before blowing the head gasket. And if anyone has made high compression 12vs I wanna hear about that too.

@Robert Winkworth the donor vehicle I bought already had the swap done so I just swapped the 2wd for the 4wd. Saves me from having to deal with Dodge tranny problems and I've been wanting to try the quick4 tranny controller that It came with. Has a mystery triple disk converter in it too.

@Robert Winkworth yea. It's my first go at it so we will see
24v tappets with my cam
12v with Colt cams big stick. Colt sold me 24v tappets to play nice with the cam which I believe they are a 24v core regrind. It has been brought to my attention that the tappets have a socket for bigger ball end 24v pushrods. I've bought trend .080 chromoly stock replacements for a 12v already Will the small ball play nice with the 24v tappets? If not Would 24v pushrods play nice with 12v rocker arms?

Camshaft testing
Well I have been thinking of this for a while. After I get moved in to the new shop in October. I should have enough money and time from you guys to do camshaft test videos. Not sure how we go about doing it yet. Question I have What brand of cams should we do. ? Colt or Hamilton?

I have a Colt big stick for my project so that's be cool to see some testing on. But they're close enough on paper I wouldn't be that picky.

I called to see what he rec'd for my motor and he basically said he'd never recd anything smaller than his big stick. The stage one is discontinued and the 2 he was thinking about discontinuing
He351cw vband clamp size?
Picked up new 4” v band clamps for my Dow pipe and 45 on the turbo. lol, neither fit. Princess auto and green line have zero v bands. Tried Lordco and they have none that big. Cummins dealer had nothing in stock but could order. Does anyone know the v bands clamp size for; Downpipe to 45 fitting size And Turbo cartridge to 45 fitting size Both are not the same as I found out the hard way. Also, where can I get it? Thanks !

Unless the oringal is kind close. I've ground lips off or steps on the sealing face a little bit to make em work
Something a little different.
Kingpin | Madman Developments https://share.google/x4K36IsHabrDBp0l4 In my opinion the lack of inputs will likely make its negligibly better than the spring and star wheel but what do I know. I'd at least like to see rpm in and maybe a gear input
