PSA for January Gym goers.
Respect the New Year gym grind. Truly. Welcome to the club. But please… remember to smell decent while you’re at it. (And yes, I’d like to believe everyone in this community already does.) The gym lately feels like a mix of motivation, pre-workout fumes, and occasional biological warfare. 😭 I swear we need gym shirts that say: “Don’t be the reason cardio turns into survival mode.” Jokes aside, what's your gym fragrance of choice, or do you go entirely unscented?

I keep it pretty light and have recently been using Spicebomb Metallic Musk, ADG Profondo EDT, D&G Light Blue Eau Intense, and occasionally Creed Aventus.

@Erick Tai It has grown on me fast! Freshest of the line.
SOTD: Argos - Neptune’s Trident
After wearing the decant I had several times last May/June and vibing with it, I finally found a deal I couldn’t pass up and pulled the trigger on my first full bottle from the house of Argos. First of all, we have to talk about the presentation. The box and the bottle are absolutely gorgeous, and the bottle is very heavy. This feels expensive, and it is. It’s as much art as it is a bottle of fragrance. UPS dropped it off this afternoon and I immediately put it on to head to the gym. Wow, Neptune’s Trident really shines when you’re moving! It opens with a big burst of tea that some may find harsh, but it had settled by the time I got into the gym. The rest of the crisp bergamot, mandarin, and marine opening really cuts right through the sweat, and throughout the workout I kept catching whiffs of the beautiful ambergris. Instant smile and confidence booster every time. I could smell myself, and I knew those around me could as well. It has solid projection and sillage, adding a ton of freshness to a high heat gym session. Outside the gym, this fragrance screams summer when the temperatures are climbing. While it may only be a 6 hour fragrance, it actually performs very well for how fresh it is. Quick comparison: I like this way more than Nishane Wulong Cha X. My sample of Wulong Cha X stayed super linear with a bold tea note that never really evolved. I wanted to wash off several times throughout the wear. Neptune’s Trident dries down so much nicer to me: more depth, more elegance. The plan is to keep this in my gym rotation for the next few months and eventually roll it in as a staple to my summer rotation. Final thoughts: I’m very happy to finally add this to the wardrobe! Would I pay the $350 retail price? No, but if you’re patient, you can find good deals on it. And that bottle, that bottle is art!

Sounds fantastic! I have yet to explore the house of Argos; it sounds like this would be a good start.
Look What’s Officially Back at Macy’s

Look What’s Officially Back at Macy’s
New Releases from Amouage
These formally release in a week and are part of the same collection as Outlands (the Essence collection). The perfume concentration for all three is 30% and the concept of the trilogy is "the geometry of time; a straight line, a dot, and a circle." Descriptions from Fragrantica: (1) Line 618 Woody Leathery Incense The composition opens with the vibrant clarity of black pepper, softened by juicy fruit notes of pineapple, plum, and peach. This play of opposites continues in the heart, where heliotrope, pine, and coconut milk introduce creamy, green-floral nuances. The drydown is rich and textured: sandalwood, patchouli, guaiac wood, and leather form a base that feels solid and almost monumental, yet perpetually in motion – an olfactory metaphor for infinite progression. (2) Remain Woody Spicy Ambery A vivid opening of pink pepper, mandarin, bergamot, and Omani hojari frankincense makes an immediate and lasting impression. As the fragrance unfolds, a floral-spicy heart of ylang-ylang, jasmine, juniper, and Madonna lily broadens its presence. The ambery base is composed of ambergris, patchouli, guaiac wood, vanilla, and tonka bean, grounding the scent and conveying a sense of timelessness and permanence. (3) Sequence Woody Fruity Floral The opening is juicy and vibrant, with lychee and raspberry accented by a generous dose of saffron. A floral heart of rose, osmanthus, and tonka bean lends warmth and textural depth, while the base of oud, leather, and an amber-woody accord creates a sense of resolution, subtly echoing the structure set by the opening notes. The result is a multifaceted fragrance that moves through successive stages of development, evoking a feeling of wholeness and completion.

SOTE - D&G The One Parfum
They had it at Macy's tonight, so I swung by to see if I could get a sample. The lady behind the counter has gotten to know me, and I've bought a few things from her over the years, so she takes care of me. They didn't have any samples, but she made me a little decant and let me spray it on pretty heavy to get a sense of how it will wear. I love the EDP, but my biggest complaint is the longevity. The Parfum smells exactly like the EDP, but louder any more heavy on the opening and lighter on the tobacco notes. I've had it on for about 5 hours now, and it's starting to fade to a skin scent, though still fairly present. I'm about to go to bed, so I'll report if it's still there when I get up. EDIT FOLLOWUP: I woke up this morning after about 6 hours of sleep, and it's nowhere to be found. So it did not survive the night on me. So let's call it about 6 to 8 hours of performance in total (5-6 while I was awake, and maybe a few hours while I was asleep). I'm going to wear it again today and see how well it does during the day. My initial impression is that it's redundant. If you have the EDP, then this is extremely similar, but with better performance, though not the beast mode that I think everyone is hoping for. I think the Parfum concentration puts the scent profile into the performance realm that we all wished we got with the EDP, but it doesn't push beyond that. If you don't have either of the previous EDT or EDP versions, then I think the Parfum is the way to go. You'll get decent performance and the same scent profile that everyone loves. But wait for it to go on discounters. Do not be persuaded into buying this for full retail. You will be disappointed when you can get it for 50% off in 3 months time.

@Stephen DeMent The reviews I have seen so far overwhelming agree that the Parfum is superior and the way to go.

Was able to smell this one today at a D&G store and the opening was fantastic! Didn’t put it on skin because I had just fully applied Alexandria II but I will definitely be revisiting.
