The Mystery Yokealong is back!
Our Mystery KAL is officially back for year three! We’re knitting a top-down round yoke sweater (or a steeked cardigan) together over seven weekly clues, kicking off on January 16th. This year, we’re leaning into stash-busting, so feel free to start hunting through your yarn collection now. You can get all the details on the Ravelry pattern page or here on Skool in the dedicated Classroom where I’ll also be posting all the relevant video tutorials as clues become available. We’d love for you to jump in and share your yarn picks, questions, and progress photos. Just use the "MYAL 2026" category for your posts. Heads up: we aren’t doing spoiler alerts this time, so feel free to post away in whatever way you like just as long as it is in that category! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year.

@Angelė OConnell hi from across the lake! Holland Michigan, where we’re getting lake effect snow every day. Love your yarns. My opinion, for what it’s worth, especially after looking at your B&W photo- use the Aranmore as A and D, use the phoebe as C and the shelter as B. Or shelter as C and Phoebe as B. I’m not wild about the cool grey with the warm tones of the other yarns. I think the Arranmore would be a beautiful background for lighter colorwork patterns.

I’m back to stash diving. I knit a swatch and I think the contrast between the white, which is a true white, and my stranding colors B and C are just too great. I’m a low contrast person and every time I acquire an item of clothing that is very high contrast I end up never wearing it. I love high contrast, it just doesn’t love me back.

@Carole Finger I have a background in clothing design and have taught fitting and have fit hard-to-fit clients. I’m happy to contribute to the hive mind to solve your fitting needs. With a patterned yoke hand knit garment there will be two considerations- 1. what extra shaping do you need to fit your upper body? and 2. How do you incorporate the surface design into the added fabric? It could be a fun challenge.

I’d like to use a couple of skeins of Spincycle but I don’t have enough for one color. Do you think I could add in the Spincycle with solid colors? Also, is my color “d” too bland?

I’ve been sewing and knitting my whole life, and I’ve got the stash to prove it. Now to live long enough to use it up!
