Intro!
Hey I just posted our first real course. You can find it under the classroom tab at the top. I figured I can't ask you guys to do the assignment if I don't do it myself so I'm answering the 3 questions. Hope you do it too! What's your favorite way to move? I love the steel mace. My favorite thing is free flow. I love just losing track of time when lost in a flow and accidentally discovering new moves. What sparked your interest in unconventional fitness? I was looking for something to help with my shoulder injuries and found steel mace. I was also just bored with standard weight lifting. Then the pandemic hit and I became obsessed with all kinds of alternative exercises. Where is your favorite place to get your movement in? Park, gym, garage, living room, or somewhere else? I mainly practice in our nice little back area lawn. But I love doing it with our group down at the park. My favorite place to mace has to be Hawaii though. Even brought a mace on our honeymoon!

What's your favorite way to move? I like nature walks, basically if I can see flowers, birds, trees, and people enjoying themselves AND get my heart rate up, its a win all around. I also really like light yoga, and of course macing in the park. What sparked your interest in unconventional fitness? Back in 2022 Dustin invited me to check out his first Steel Mace Class in Magnolia Park in NoHo , I had seen his Instagram posts about it, and loved how enthusiastic he was about it, so I wanted to give it a shot, too. Glad I did! Where is your favorite place to get your movement in? Outdoors, the park is awesome, I also really love doing walks at the Arboretum or up in the canyon.
Sunday Class & Full Shakespeare Flow 1/11/2026
We had a good turnout today with 5 people in attendance. I personally had a blast! We worked on the January Flow which we are now officially calling the Shakespeare Flow. I really like this flow and we will continue to fine tune it and add to it throughout the beginning of the new year. I'm posting the video of just the flow here again because in the previous one I posted I left out the switchblade uppercut. Make sure to hit me up if you have any questions! Post a video of yourself doing the flow if you're feeling up to it. Siri Cat makes a little cameo appearance at the end of this video. šŸˆā€ā¬›

Super fun, can’t wait to keep working it out, I love the crossover, I’m gonna use that as a back stretch all the time, might even try it with a heavier mace 😱
Rope Flow
Check out this awesome video of @Erik Messal using the very heavy Great White rope in some free flow after our one on one class last night. So smooth and so strong!

Flow of the Month
Looks like the weather is shaping up perfectly for moving around in the park this weekend. Here’s a video of the flow we’ll be refining from last week’s recorded class. Don't worry if you didn't check out the class. We’ll go through it from top to bottom, then focus on smoothing things out and adding on where it makes sense. As always, the class will be beginner-friendly. I’ve had a lot of fun with this one and can’t wait to work on it with you all. If you have tried it. Let me know if there's anything you were having trouble with or any thoughts you have about it. See you Sunday! (don't mind the cheesy library music, I'm trying out a new video tool haha)

See you Sunday!
Happy New Year!
Hope everyone’s year is going good so far! Our Swinging into the New Year event went great. There were people swinging clubs, maces, heavy gadas, even a lightsaber! @Erik Messal showed up in style and swung his maces and even busted out some rope flow. It was awesome! You can check out the clip below to see a little portion of it. Anyone have any good resolutions this year? My goal is to make sure there’s a class every week this year. Even on the weeks where it’s too rainy or I am out of town by posting the class here on Skool.

This is awesome! I hope to make it to a class every week, I am also going to make sure to do at least 3 walks outdoors a week, and I’m doing dry January to kickstart the year… and practice gratitude daily! Happy New Year!!
