Retell: Need help with using logic split node
I'm working on a retell workflow for an agent that can book a discovery calls for my business. I want the agent to only book a call when the user has a need that is qualified as something that my business can offer to the user. before the booking flow, I placed a logic split node that I set as global node (instruction: go here if user wants to book a discovery meeting). If user need is not qualified, I want it to jump to another node where agent asks what user need is and tries to understand and qualify it, then sets 2 global variables, 1 for indicating whether user need is qualified and 1 describing the user need First thing I noticed in Logic Split node is that I can't check against boolean values, only string values, so I'm setting the user_need_qualified variable as string (enum true false) This doesn't seem to work and agent allows user to book meeting without having understood user need. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions how to improve (or redesign this). I couldn't find any documentation or YT videos on this. Thanks

The issue seems to have been that I had Flex mode instead of Rigid mode selected. In Rigid mode it works as intended. I guess Flex mode just allows it to jump to any node, therefore bypassing logic split node
My Journey thus farโ€ฆ
Iโ€™m Amanda, a UK-based business owner running a construction company with my husband as well as a luxury holiday let. Iโ€™m fascinated by how AI can capture a personโ€™s voice, values and way of thinking โ€“ almost like a โ€œclone co-pilotโ€ that can help with writing, planning and problem-solving. Iโ€™m here to learn how to use AI ethically and practically in real businesses: from client communication and marketing to operations and financial clarity. Iโ€™m also exploring the idea of an โ€œAI version of meโ€ that understands my tone, values and boundaries, so it can support me consistently. Iโ€™m here to learn and in effect embrace AI, test the things I learn in the real world, and share what works (and what doesnโ€™t).

Hi @Amanda Moore how are you, I'm Marc, also UK based, I've just released my first voice agent video using British English Voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TBLp3XvWZY An interesting idea I've had for Holiday Lets (or when you do a house exchange), is to build a voice agent that serves as a property assistant (someone that guests can call 24/7 with practical questions about the property), and only forward to human owner if really necessary ;-) Also plenty use cases in construction.
Help Needed: VAPI Assistant + Make Automation Issue
Hi everyone, Iโ€™m building a VAPI assistant and have also set up automation in Make. Everything works fine in Makeโ€”scenarios run successfullyโ€”but when I call VAPI to check appointment availability, the tools response doesnโ€™t return anything. Hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve done so far: - Created VAPI assistant for scheduling. - Made Make scenario to handle booking and availability. - Set up time, calendar, and timezone variables. - Make scenario runs successfully, but VAPI doesnโ€™t return expected results in the webhook. Iโ€™ve tried sending all required parameters (service, name, email, time) in JSON, but still no tools response. Does anyone know why VAPI might not be returning the tools response even though Make scenario executes without errors? Any tips or similar experiences would be really appreciated.

what @Safock Ai said: your webhook response in make.com should be in exactly prescribed format otherwise VAPI will ignore the response: https://docs.vapi.ai/tools/custom-tools#server-response-format-providing-results-and-context I've recently shifted from VAPI to Retell, no such issue there as response format is flexible
looking for UK/EU based partner to build voice agents
Hi, Marc here, I'm a starting solopreneur (duativ.ai, technically skilled) looking for a business partner that is strong in sales and marketing. Basically someone who complements my weaknesses and also can keep me accountable and focussed day-to-day. I've been building various automation solutions this year using mainly make.com, I've also build a voice agent using vapi/twillio. the voice agent is the one that stood out for me in terms of potential and wow-factor and is something that I would like specialize in / niche down on (client business type t.b.d.) What I'm looking for is someone who is: - equally excited about voice agent space - open for long term equal and strategic partnership - ready to (eventually) commit to this 100% - willing to focus on sales and lead generation - ideally UK based, possibly EU base (at least in same time zone) Just to be clear: - I'm looking to become your business partner, not your client. - This is not a job offer, I'm not running a profitable business (yet) Excited? Hit me up if this is you, cheers, Marc
