Front desk nightmare
I try to keep it simple and clear, but I still have issues passing the front desk. What would you do if they don't sound willing to help at all. I said "I'd like to ask a few questions to the person in charge of x and y" and she kept asking me to tell her the questions which would lead me to pitch and I don't want to do that, then she asks if it is a sales call, but since she is not the decision maker, what would you say? to stop her fron hanging out or saying "not interested" and hung up.
Cold calls when no one’s watching…
How do you keep yourself accountable to getting your dials/hours in especially when you don’t have someone micromanaging you?

@Morgan Mccauley I feel the same way, but my current boss does micromanage me 😭😭😭😭😭
can't get past the front desk, and they tell me they're not interested without even hearing my pitch.
First days of cold calling: can't get past the front desk, and they tell me they're not interested without even hearing my pitch. What do we think, what do we do, and how do we avoid getting discouraged? Haha!

@John Verdi @Steven L. I agree with you guys. I am super frustrated, I could look for the right guy’s phone number, they just give me a list and all I got is front desk people.

@John Verdi Amazing! TY
Acting as the personal assistant of a high-ranking executive.
What are your thoughts on pretending that the company president asked me to contact the decision-maker to discuss a compliance and human resources matter? Context: PEO Services, cold calling, but I can't properly research who to call because they prioritize call volume.

@Steven L. I was actually waiting for someone to tell me that, yes, I am pretty young and trying to make a living out of cold calling and sales but there are many wrong things I cannot control.

@Graham Prior I have to make 100 dials everyday, and yes, for now only the ones they provide in the list, which is just general company’s number (front desk, IVR)
Please help first time cold caller
Hi there, finally embarking on journey to land customers through cold calling, feeling a bit uneasy honestly, but I know I will overcome this. How did it go for you? What kind of problems I can expect? What is the percentage of calls I can expect to have a real conversations? Is 20% a realistic number?

Hi! I’m also new to cold callingβ€”it’s intimidating at first, but I’ve enjoyed it so far, even though I haven’t had my first real conversation yet :c We can help each other out! What I’ve been doing is setting aside time each day to organize openers, review objections, and gradually prepare myself. I practice breathing and relaxation exercises, talk to myself, or role-play with someone to be ready for when the good prospects come in. You’re not aloneβ€”let’s give it our all because we’ve got this!
