Civil Liberties & Government Power
I’ve been thinking a lot about how much power people believe the government should have over their daily lives. Some argue that strong central authority is necessary for stability, while others believe individual liberty should always take priority. I’m curious where everyone here draws the line. At what point does government involvement shift from protection to overreach? And how do we balance personal freedom with collective responsibility in a way that actually works for real people? Would love to hear different perspectives.

@Ginny Jaques You’re right that the line is always shifting. Any system that values freedom has to constantly renegotiate how much power it gives to centralized authority. And your point about distance from the individual is real accountability tends to fade the further that power moves away. History has shown more than once how easily authority can drift into abuse.
This video message to Trump was just sent to me from a man in Iran.
His message: "Thank you, President Trump. King Reza Pahlavi. Am Israel Chai. And this is Iran. And these crappy Iranian cars are visible [here]. In another hour, the people will be crowding... but we have to park the cars, leave the mobiles inside the car too, and go into the street."

@Mavin Andrew Absolutely, Mavin. There’s something powerful about firsthand experience it sharpens the conversation and grounds it in reality. When someone is willing to speak from their own path, it invites the rest of us to listen more closely and reflect a bit deeper.

@Mavin Andrew Thank you for putting it that way. You’re right when someone speaks from lived experience, it shifts the whole conversation. It grounds everything and makes the rest of us pause and think a little more intentionally.
Political Philosophy & Open Discussion
One thing I appreciate about political discussions is how differently people define “freedom.” For some, it’s about limiting government; for others, it’s about ensuring everyone has the resources to participate fully in society. I’d like to hear how members of this community personally define liberty. What does “being free” actually mean to you in practical, everyday terms? And how does that shape the policies you support? Let’s have a thoughtful conversation.

@Hila Lala You explained it well freedom may be universal in theory, but the path to it isn’t. Our starting points shape how we see limits, progress, and what “freedom” really means.

@Dani Spivak You make a strong point about the balance between individual freedom and collective safety. I agree that some limits like laws against harming others are necessary, but social shunning driven by online mobs feels a lot less principled. The tension between free expression and social consequences is definitely getting harder to navigate, and it’s frustrating when certain words or ideas get treated like moral landmines instead of opportunities for real conversation.
"Where is Bibi?" My Desperate Plea to Israel on Ynet News
I went on Ynet, Israel's largest news outlet, to deliver a critical message from the Iranian people as the regime attempts to hide a massacre under a total internet blackout. With reports of over 12,000 dead in just two days, the situation on the ground is catastrophic, yet Iranians are still taking to the streets and calling for the return of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. In this interview, I remind Prime Minister Netanyahu of his promise to stand with us, explaining that the Iranian people are Israel's most vital allies in the region, and that while the Islamic Republic is on the brink of collapse, we need immediate support to stop the slaughter and secure a future of peace and friendship between our two nations.

This is an extremely urgent and heartbreaking situation. The scale of the violence you’re describing is unimaginable, and it’s powerful that you’re using every platform available to make sure the world doesn’t look away. The Iranian people deserve safety, dignity, and real support in this moment of crisis.
‘Forces Using MACHINE GUNS On Us!’ | Iranian Activist Armin Navabi Speaks Out Against Regime
In this interview on TalkTV I sounded the alarm on the greatest massacre of Iranian people in modern history that is unfolding right before our eyes. This is our 9/11 and our Holocaust yet the silence from Western politicians is deafening while the regime uses weapons of war to slaughter thousands of innocent civilians who actually share your values. We desperately need the world to wake up and back Prince Reza Pahlavi as the only legitimate leader who can end this nightmare. https://youtu.be/Xx3GX-x9c0g?si=TeRsn9QyTpZCwvWF

This is devastating to witness. No people should face war weapons for demanding basic rights. The world can’t stay silent while civilians are being slaughtered. The Iranian people deserve protection and a future free from fear.
