For many of you, this was your first all-over colourwork sweater, your first steek, your first time trying something out of your comfort zone. It follows the same idea as the previous ones in the series: a colourwork yoke that runs well past the sleeve separation, so you have plenty of time to get into the rhythm before things get easier. This one has a more relaxed, oversized fit and is worked at a sport weight gauge. A great transitional weather knit. 🤩 There is a double-knit ridge on the neckband and a fun decrease detail near the cuffs. The pattern also includes chart options for both lighter and darker main colours. First, I want to apologise for the sleeves landing all in one week. Two sleeves in a single clue was a lot to ask, I know. At the same time, for many of you that was the final clue, so I hope there was no real pressure attached to it. From here on, there is no pressure at all. The Layan Cardigan is a tailored cabled cardigan using fingering weight yarn, and the pattern has just been released! 😍 The name comes from the Arabic word for soft, gentle, and tender, and that feeling carries through the whole design. It is a classic, wearable piece that works well in any wardrobe. The construction as usual is a seamless top-down one, with the sleeve caps worked simultaneously with the yoke, so you can try it on as you go. 🤩 The cable pattern is simple and repetitive and once the top of the yoke is done, it settles into an intuitive rhythm. The Pasaka Sweater is the second design in my Tribute to Latvian Mittens collection. The name means "fairy tale" in Latvian, inspired by a traditional mitten that reminds me of a snow flake so perfect it could only exist in a fairy tale. ❄️ The construction is a top-down round yoke and the stranded colourwork has some longer floats in places, which should be caught using the Ladderback Jacquard method.
