Coeliac diagnosis
Hi everyone has anyone else been diagnosed but never had a referral for a dietician or to have a bone scan? Just curious.

@Eden Goldby-Timmis when your intestines are damaged from eating gluten, it can affect the absorption of vitamin D and calcium and lead to a higher risk of low bone density and risk of fractures. It’s a good idea to get a bone density scan just to make sure! :)

@Eden Goldby-Timmis no problem! My doctor didn’t tell me either but the gastroenterologist who did my endoscopy did
Fatigue
Hi everyone!! I’ve really been struggling with the fatigue that comes along with coeliac, usually having to have 2 hour naps every day, struggling to wake up, and to stay awake when I go out. Some days it’s more severe than other days, and I’m currently going through quite an intense patch (just woke up from a 3 hour nap where I was meant to be working….) and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to boost energy levels! (Not coffee, my stomach HATES coffee 😣)

I second getting your bloodwork checked! I struggle a lot with low energy as well because my iron levels are very low. Since I’ve started supplementing iron and focusing on high protein meals, I am starting to feel better! ❤️‍🩹

Hi everyone! My name is Maddie and I am from Ontario, Canada. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in late 2025 after having pretty nonspecific symptoms for years. I am very happy to be a part of this community as there is nobody in my life who has celiac disease and who can relate. Thank you for this group 🩷
