Pizza express
When I first got diagnosed, pizza express was my saving grace. Went there a few times and it was fine. First time I got it for takeaway I got glutened quite badly, but I assumed it was just because I don’t call them to clarify. I (stupidly) got a takeaway there a second time, calling in advance that I was a coeliac and they assured me that everything would be separated and safe for me, and still got glutened!! I’ve lost all hope in them, even though they’re accredited by coeliac uk, and was wondering if maybe I’ve jus been really unlucky with my local chain, or it’s just a pizza express problem. Thoughts?
Coeliac diagnosis
Hi everyone has anyone else been diagnosed but never had a referral for a dietician or to have a bone scan? Just curious.

Been told twice I’ve been referred to a dietician. Heard crickets since. Genuinely starting to think an nhs dietician is a fake job title they make up to make you feel better but none actually exist unless you dish out your life savings for a private one
Fatigue
Hi everyone!! I’ve really been struggling with the fatigue that comes along with coeliac, usually having to have 2 hour naps every day, struggling to wake up, and to stay awake when I go out. Some days it’s more severe than other days, and I’m currently going through quite an intense patch (just woke up from a 3 hour nap where I was meant to be working….) and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to boost energy levels! (Not coffee, my stomach HATES coffee 😣)
Always hungry?
Hiya is anyone else struggling with constant hunger? I feel like I’m going round in circles 🥴 I’m trying to loose weight as I’m overweight so I’m calorie counting which is fine - ish. I’m trying to eat more protein, fibre and balance my meals to hep my stomach and general coeliac symptoms, but it’s not enough calories for always being hungry. So then I’m eating over my calories and then feeling like I’ve failed at it. Is it just my stomach getting used to absorbing nutrients again? I’m terrified of gaining weight going GF as I’m already size 20 and unhealthy. I’m trying to stick to naturally GF food and try to cut all the processed snacks etc. Thanks x

I go through phases of it!! I do think it links to the fact that you might have been glutened to some extent, and you’re more hungry so make up for the nutrients you’re missing (but I’m not a scientist or an expert, so definitely talk to one instead of listening to me by default). What I will say is if your body is hungry, feed it! Restricting yourself will make you crash easier and will likely have a greater impact on your already immunocompromised body. Make sure you are still eating at least your daily recommended calories… if you restrict yourself to much when you start eating “normally” agin your weight will come back a million times faster. I would recommend talking to a doctor/dietitian, but definitely listen to what your body needs.
Vitamins and deficiencies
Hey guys!! New to being coeliac and taking care of myself in general. Beyond the prescribed medicines for deficiencies (I take iron and folic acid), what are the best vitamins and minerals to take that help coeliacs, or just people in general, function better?? Follow up question is what’s the best value for money? I’m a broke student so I don’t want to be spending unnecessary money! Thanks everyone, excited to be here 😊😊
