Absoolutely loved the pricing encouragement in today's email. It reminded me never to diminish my own value in my sales process. GO READ IT! to start your week with gusto.

Speaking Business Gamification (and how to get unstuck)
Most speakers treat booking gigs like a grind—endless pitching, inconsistent posting, and feeling frustrated when nothing seems to move the needle. But what if marketing yourself didn’t feel like work? Gamification changes everything. When you attach points, levels, and rewards to tasks, your brain releases dopamine—the chemical that fuels motivation. Suddenly, the things you used to avoid become addictive because they feel good to complete. 🔹 Progress becomes visible – Instead of feeling like you’re spinning your wheels, every action has a measurable impact. 🔹 Small wins keep you going – Each email, post, or outreach isn’t just “work.” It’s progress toward a bigger goal. 🔹 Hard things become fun – Pitching 10 events isn’t a chore—it’s a challenge you want to beat. Instead of dreading outreach and content creation, you turn it into a system that rewards progress. 🔹 Every pitch email = 10 points 🔹 Posting on social = 25-point side quest 🔹 Landing a TEDx = 500-point boss fight This isn’t just a gimmick. Nike, Duolingo, and even the military use gamification to drive engagement. Why? Because our brains are wired to chase progress when it feels like a reward. Most speakers burn out because they don’t see results fast enough. But when you gamify the process, you stay motivated and keep taking action. So, what’s your next move? How are you tracking progress today?

wow you are catching up to me lol
Would You Rather??
Hey, Speakers! Would you rather: Speak at TEDx but not get paid, or get $10K for a corporate gig but never get to share the talk publicly? Curious about your take on this 👀

having a content summary video they can buy and share is a nice workaround to the whole issue as part of the package tney purchase. You remain the value and they get something they can use to refer you around town

@CJ Janzen everything we need already exists. you don't need to create much beyond your content and consistent actions. Ask for the stuff you need from people you know are doing it right. I'm not perfect and fear visibility most days.
Sketch notes
When I take notes, I often doodle and draw diagrams. Recently I heard of seminars using limited diagrams so attendees aren’t distracted between the speaker and the exhibits. There’s even a one-slide offer. Dies anyone have experience with designing these or know of an AI platform that can design these infographics?

I'm a firm believer that the slide has to absolutely crucial or it's just another distraction from the speaker. ie mood images can ber replaced with impactful delivery. A 3 bullet summation at the end is great if you have it followed by your deets, Less is more because they only remmember your open and close for the most part anyway
Your best tips for audience engagement?
Hey, fellow speakers! What’s your secret for connecting with the crowd? Is it a killer story, a funny quip, or just your charming smile? 😄 Share your best tips or memorable moments!

I like to gamify my audience experience before during and after the event. #AX

@CJ Janzen sorry for the late reply CJ . I'm happy to have a quick discussion about that. The theory is getting them to invest in you, your events and each other. If @Cam Beaudoin has no objection I'm happy to provide a meeting link to further the discussion.
