Potentially my first gig in the film industry
Hello. A few days ago I sent an application to a director/screenwriter who is preparing her first film. I did it a bit as a joke, without taking it very seriously because, despite liking the audiovisual industry, I barely have any experience (only three short songs on YouTube and I am currently composing for two video games). However, I didn't expect her to accept my application! Now she has asked me to set up an interview, and I am very nervous because I have never gotten to this point. I am writing here to ask for advice from someone who has more experience in this (probably several of you who are reading me). What kind of questions do interviewers typically ask in the film industry, for example? What should I ask? Thank y'all in advance ā˜ŗļø

@Dieter Schwartz True, those are important aspects to know what the workflow will be like. Thank you for the advice 😊

@Mike Targanski fortunately, I already know what the plot is about. And they haven't started shooting yet. I think the will start in September or October (November at most). I'll take all into account. Thanks šŸ˜„

Let us see your studio! šŸŽ¹
Hey all, Now, what would a community be if we didn't have studio pics of all your places? Feel free to post your creative places here, and let us see where you give birth to your creations! If you feel like posting several pictures, please put them in the comments below your own post instead of opening a new thread for every picture. Thank you!

@Wayne Liesching I personally prefer to compose with instruments in my hands and avoid virtual libraries as much as possible. They are amazing tools, but I find them less organic and I'd like to have full control over the sound I produce (maybe it's because of my background in classical music idk) and modify it later as necessary. This personal approach doesn't in any way exclude hardware synths of course hahaha

@Wayne Liesching I usually use music notation software too, to leave in writing what I compose. And I always try to understand the decisions I made, not just because I like a sound

Hello there! I'm Lourdes. I love music and video games, and I've been playing both for a long time. I'm really interested in being a VGM composer
