When a Mentor Sees the Move You Can’t
I almost canceled the call today. It was a 1:1 with my mentor. I had a bunch of running around to do. Felt like I already had a solid plan. Thought, “I’m good… I know what I'm doing.” I’m really glad I didn’t. This is someone who’s been doing funnels, offers, and positioning way longer than I have. Thousands of reps. Thousands of patterns seen. I came in thinking I’d get a few tweaks. What actually happened? He took what I was planning.. and 10X’d it. In a "I didn’t even know you could do that" way. He saw a path I literally could not see from where I was standing. Reframed the whole offer into something so obvious, so compelling, it instantly became a no-brainer for anyone looking at it. And that’s when it clicked. It wasn’t that my plan was bad. It was that my perspective was capped. That’s what a real mentor gives you. Pattern recognition. Experience. Seeing moves you don’t know exist yet. The offer I’m launching next week is significantly better because of that one conversation. All because I showed up when I almost didn’t. So here’s the reminder. Don’t skip the call just because you think you’re “mostly there.” Don’t confuse competence with completeness. If you have access to someone who’s been doing this 5x longer than you, has seen thousands more scenarios, and can shave years off your learning curve… Take the shortcut. I’m executing everything we talked through and honestly can’t wait to launch the offer next week to a select few. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come from the call you almost canceled. 🚀 - James
