Back to school Skool bus raid train?
Hi all, wondering if there’s interest in putting together another raid train? Figured we are kicking off a new school year so why not? I’m not exactly sure how to set it up but I am willing to learn/help!

Tip Tuesday - A New Skool Segment? 👁️🫦👁️
Greetings! There are 100 things that go through my brain on a weekly basis that I think are share worthy. I don't share them because I'm either shipping or live streaming or with my family . I really want to share more on this app. Every time I hop on Skool and take a 37 minute Facebook hiatus, it is refreshing as heck to see this interface. It's so clean and friendly and people have a sincere willingness to help each other in the online jewelry reselling community here and I think that's just superb. I love this group and want to commit to posting a Tip Tuesday here once per week. Now to pick the day of the week! 😂😂😂 XO, Brad/threefortytwo on Whatnot

Brad, thank you for the very thoughtful reply - so appreciated. I think there is a tipping point to all of this. 5-10 people in a room vs 50. But the point is just sell it. It should all even out. I have over 2000 pieces of jewelry in my inventory so this approach should work in the long run. Frankly, the $$ is already spent so try to recoup whatever you can. Got it. Anything I sell at craft fairs, EBay, Etsy, etc. will help this approach since I am selling pieces at retail. Ok, going to try this in my show on Sunday. Thank you, thank you for your knowledge, humor and just being an amazing human. You’re the best. See ya on the stream soon.

@Allison Argent retail for sure. I do at least 40-50 craft fairs a year. I can really offset with margins I get from this revenue stream. Plus slowly growing on eBay and Etsy. A lot of events require only hand made but I do many that don’t so I can easily bring in what I buy off of whatnot. The rings of which I have an ungodly number sell the best. I clearly need a 12-step program.
Does Anyone Want To Try Consignment?
Hi! If anyone wants to try their hand at a zero stress, zero expectations jewelry consignment game, comment interested below with your contact info: email and/or phone, whatever you're comfortable sharing. Or you can DM it to me and I will relay. I will also entertain any questions via DM. Watch video and see pictures which show a portion of about a 25 pound box. Guinea pig it! See if you like the process. Maybe try a blisteringly fast-paced show, buck and go? See if you can grow your business, generate a little fomo with jewelry that didn't cost you anything. Frankly, I wish I had an opportunity like this when I started my consignment journey. Good luck, maybe she will pick two horses? Brad

Cost Fatigue... Don't Overshare
Today's tip may be a bit of tough for some... No customer cares what you paid, nor do they want to hear it. It's an instant vibe killer. Your customers want to know they are getting the lowest price possible. If you disclose you paid $50, can you truly expect it to sell for $85? If you paid $50 then that's the market price, why should they pay more? Why are you a better single item buyer than your customer? You are a bulk or wholesale buyer, and you may have a cost average assigned to each piece in a lot, but don't single out a single item and flap your arms while clucking on about how hard it was to buy or that you're in too deep on it... Your customers will exit the room, I promise you that. I will occasionally share a price paid with the room simply as an interesting talking point, but never from a mentality of "I paid $50 so I need to make $75". I still start the item at $10 and let the room dictate what it's actually worth. I understand you may not have 50 people in your room, so start it at half market price so you don't take a huge hit. You will ALWAYS sell some items at a loss. If you aren't missing on a few pieces every show, you're not growing. The following phrases I hear all the time, and I urge you to cut every one of them out of your sales flow: - I paid up for this - I paid X dollars for this - I need to get AT LEAST X dollars for this - This was expensive - I paid too much for this - I got carried away on this one - I don't have much room on this Set an asking price, start the auction, tell everyone why they should buy it, hit the gas and if you don't have a different item in your hands in 22 seconds, you're in the wrong industry. Fondly written with 🐢 noises and NOT ai, Brad/threefortytwo

Do any of you mark up so you’re making a slight profit?

@Bradley Johns understood but in the beginning of this hustle, it seems like you have to take some losses before you get into the groove and build a following. Please let me know if you disagree or if there’s another way to approach this. I really want to get this right.
Jewelry Rant
Well, half rant, half advice. Plain and simply put, I'm tired of watching new people or less knowledgeable jewelry people eat shit sandwiches from experienced individuals in this industry. It's just jewelry. It's not a secret recipe. It's not saving anyone's life, and it certainly doesn't make you better than the next guy/gal. Just be kind. Yes, you studied for 30 years, congratulations. I hope I'm not like you when I reach the same point. If jewelry makes you feel poorly toward other people or makes you want to be negative, then maybe you should consider a different hobby until you're ready to act like a respectable/respectful person. XO, Brad

We’ve all been in groups where there is always that one who believes he or she is the smartest in the room. Just remember they are compensating for some insecurity to put another down. Smile and nod, and then move on. Life is too short for unkind people. Surround yourself with those who lift you up rather than tear you down. I’ll go find the knowledge in other ways.
