Question/Discussion about reviews.
I pay a lot of attention to reviews when I make a purchase. That being said Im terrible about leaving them and would like to leave more notable ones, especially for newer sellers. I have noticed that most of the sellers I buy from have reviews from approx 10-20% of their items sold, so maybe Im not the only one that reads rather than write. My questions are β€˜Do you check a sellers reviews before you purchase from them?’ And if you do β€˜Are there certain things you look for? Or do you just see if customers are satisfied in general?’

I do not check anyone's reviews before buying on WN. I figure WN has my back if they try to shaft me. As for ebay? Yeah, I'll glance at them if they have under 1000 feedbacks, at least see the % of positive.
Starting bids
I was recently asked by a newer seller about how they go about pricing items for their auction. My response was to let them know how I do it in terms of figuring out cost per item and going from there. 95% of my items are uniformly started at a lower bid amount while a few bangers go for higher. How do you all determine your starting bid amounts?

I love chaos. Whatever my vibe is that day. Buck, five bucks, whatever. Part of what drives repeat traffic for me, is customers counting on low starts, even on Juliana or Kramer or Weiss or whatever it is. When I do preloads, which is not often, I typically just do 10 bucks. Dollar start is kind of an unnecessary gyration. If I'm doing my own show (non consignment) and I have something that know is big money (Like, over $500), I tend to pick a fair market price and then work my way down. Run it at 450, then 400, then 375, then 350. I call it a reverse auction and it's fun to watch the room sweat it out a bit. Even if it gets down to 250, by then there are probably 2-3 willing people who will bid it back to 400 or whatever 'the whatnot' price should be.

Not ideal pics for marketing content, but you'll get better at it! I would urge you to do your first live show, could make it a private show and send me/Melanie/Chris Hammond the link and then we can assist with basics/raiding
