Now THAT's Branding!!
Scrolling through my notifications this morning and I see this. (Open the attached pic). I did not register the name, the words, nothing. I just saw the traffic light emoji and my brain INSTANTLY went to the Red Light, Green Light activity here in the Directory. THAT's brilliant branding on @Heather Boers' part. If you're in this community because you want more eyeballs on your business, and you're randomly posting to get seen and then getting out, you're missing out on the type of training that people pay tens of thousands for. You can take a branding class and learn the concepts, but you cannot SEE it in action like you can here. Pay attention to what's happening, what people are engaging with, what context YOU carry away with you. It's utterly priceless. You've got a masterclass under your nose!!! You can be brilliant at what you do, but in here you can learn how to run a community, how to give folks an incredible experience, how to surprise and delight your audience, how to create genuine engagement, how to foster meaningful relationships, and so much more. Just by watching and taking notes! As a copywriter, storyteller, and funnel strategist, I can find the gaps and leaks in people's marketing. That's MY superpower and why I started my community. But faaaaack do I still have a lot to learn about community-building and all that user experience stuff. And I learn something new from Heather every damn day. Fun fact: for the longest time I thought this gif of a woman spitting out her drink in laughter was Heather too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Heather Boers exactly! if it's not fun, why do it?

@Baz Morris i think those are very different situations actually, and I'd have to look at the science. In your attractive pedestrian/flashing light scenario, one's a distraction, the other's a self-preservation mechanism. And I can't tell you how many times I have been in a car with someone who is completely unaware of their surroundings (including flashing lights) but still immensely distractable by other things. All that said, I don't think this scenario proves you should always lead with a problem. Leading with the pain IS very effective, but it attracts a different kind of person. And depending on the industry you're in, that may not be the best approach. Personally, I prefer to lead with the outcome, the desire... because that has a power all its own.
Calls > Everything Else. Here's The Proof! 🔥
I've been digging into my stats lately, and I had Claude break it all down. One thing stood out loud and clear! By far the biggest driver of results in my community isn't content, it isn't DMs, it isn't funnels. It's calls. Getting on a call, face to face with someone, beats everything else combined. Which got me thinking - how many people actually feel comfortable doing that? Are you someone who's happy hopping on a call with a stranger and having a real conversation? Or does the thought of it make you want to hide behind a keyboard? If it's the second one, you're not alone, and it's a skill, not a personality trait. It can be learned. That's exactly what we work on inside Direct Sales Mastery, helping people get comfortable being seen, being heard, and getting in front of others without it feeling forced or "salesy." If that's something you want to build, come join us! What are your biggest challenges when it comes to being on a call? 👇

@Chris Suckling operative word right there! How do you like to warm your audiences up?

@Chris Suckling Say it louder!! YES!! (The "they know someone who is." bit. Referral marketing is so powerful and so under-thought-about.)
🚦 RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT: We're Back!
Y'all showed up in a BIG way for Back to Basics last weekend pulling in 944 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨. That's insane and awesome all in one! This community definitely knows how to play: show up, give feedback, help each other level up. So we're doing it again... I mean, it's the weekend, y'all expect it at this point. 😉 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆: Drop below what you're working on... one-liner, graphic, CTA, whatever you want eyes on. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 — 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽! Then go give feedback on a few others using the light system: 🔴 Needs work — vague, doesn't land, missing the hook, etc. 🟡 Getting there — good bones, but something's holding it back 🟢 GREEN LIGHT — this is clear and ready to go ... I would click this! Give feedback before you ask for it. As alwasys, the best rounds are the ones where everyone's playing both sides. 🏆 Shoutout to our last weekend winner! @Jennifer Rassbach! She doesn't even know it yet, but she showed up in a huge way, giving thoughtful feedback to 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙙𝙤𝙯𝙚𝙣 different members. And that, my friends, is what being a team player is all about 💥 Every week we have a winner! Jennifer claimed last week and whoever gives the most valuable feedback this round earns a 24-hour pinned post too! Let's see if we can beat 944. Who's getting the green light this weekend?! 🚦

@Alison Wind I agree with @Red Seh - it's very warm and inviting and clear if I read through it all. 🟢 I might just edit the subhead a tiny bit because when i see it i'm not really sure right off the bat WHAT we're raising or growing. So it presents as vague, which might not entice folks to keep reading. Adding a bit more specificity would help.... e.g. instead of "Raising, learning, and growing one season at a time" something like "Raise your kids. Grow your skills. Build a life that works for you." (ie Raising [what specifically], learning [what specifically], growing [what specifically].)

@Alison Wind you're welcome! I'm an off-the-grid dreamer at heart. Go get it!
👀 WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS ASK YOU FOR HELP WITH DAILY …
Tell me 3 things your friends, family or coworkers are ALWAYS asking you for help with. Not what you think you should sell. The things people already come to YOU for. Maybe it’s: 💬 “Can you help me word this?” 👗 “What should I wear?” 💰 “How do you budget for this?” 📱 “How did you do that on Instagram?” 🍝 “What should I make for dinner?” 🧹 “How do you keep this organized?” ✈️ “Can you help me plan this trip?” Because one of the biggest mistakes I see people make is searching OUTSIDE themselves for something to sell… when there are clues sitting in their everyday life. 🔥 So let’s play. Drop 3 things people regularly ask YOU for help with in the comments. I’m going to reply and tell you an offer I think you could create from them. 👀💸

👀 It doesn’t take TWO EYES to see that Level 7 looks GOOD on Liisa Reimann! 🔥
Awe yeah... Liisa just hit Level 7! 🎉 Which means our resident Funnel Detective has officially earned her place in the 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 on the Event Showcase! 🌟 And if you haven't wandered into Liisa on Skool yet, you've got TWO very different communities to explore... 🔎 F𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 Got an awesome offer but something between “this is brilliant” and “where are the buyers?” isn't quite clicking? Liisa puts on her Funnel Detective hat and helps uncover the leaks costing you clients. No hype. No guru scripts. No BS. Just figuring out what's actually happening and what to do next. 🐉 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗹 Yep, plot twist. Liisa is ALSO a Team USA paddler and coach! This free community connects dragon boaters, helps them build their skills, and gives access to the USDBF Steering Certification program with former Team USA coaches Liisa Reimann + Joann Fegley. AND... Those of you who were at yesterday's Power Mingle may have caught a little leak about something ELSE Liisa has brewing... 👀🤐 Could there possibly be a third community coming? I'm not spilling it. 😂 For now, help me congratulate @Liisa Reimann on reaching Level 7 and earning her place in the Spotlight! 🌈🌟 Go check out her communities, show her some love, and keep an 👀 out for whatever she's cooking up next. Congratulations, Liisa!! 🎉🔥
