What’s up everyone. Currently in the process of purchasing a new laptop and will be switching to Mac. I’ve been windows my whole life and my previous laptop had a ryzen 9 and 6800hs paired with 24gb of ram. I need a machine capable of editing 4k 120p without proxies with the occasional 6k or 8k at 24/30p. Right now I’m looking at the M3 Max with 36gb of memory but curious if I even need that with Macs being so powerful and unified memory. What do you guys all use and what’s your experience editing video on the machine?

Hey I’m Libby! I’ve loved taking photos ever since I was a youngin with my small blue digital camera (from Santa). When I got to high school I won an award, took classes and found something I really loved. About a year ago I sent an email to my athletic department asking if I could take photos, they asked for my resume, I took photos of 3 different sports in a week and made a “resume”. Invested in a canon 90D (transition from my t3) and my bank account has been drained ever since from gaining new lenses along the way LOL. I also have grown in a love for film/analog this last semester! My goal is to get into video within the next months and continue to work with the athletic/football department while in school and working! I also am excited to get to know everyone through this group and keep learning everyday:) LETS GET IT
