@Max Mullane I have a canon r7 and use it for photo and video. The 18-150 is a pretty decent lens with good lighting but poor lighting conditions show its struggles. Find myself using my sigma sports 70-200 a lot for outdoor sports photo/video and indoor photo. For indoor video I like using the canon 50 1.8 as it’s cheap and a good focal length for basketball and volleyball. If you have the budget for a 24-105 f4 I highly recommend as it’s the perfect focal length for indoor sports video.

Soccer?
Unexpectedly got some freelance media credentials to a Forward Madison FC soccer game. Does anyone have tips on shooting soccer? I'm trying to make connections.

I’ve shot collegiate soccer at the d1 and d3 level. Highlight recommended a 100-400 or at minimum 70-200 as the field is larger than football. Having a hi hat or monopod with a fluid head is also helpful to stabilize footage and save your arms as games are 90+ minutes. Beyond just gear recommendations I like positioning my self behind the goal line or inside the 20 yard line on field level. Also as needed in most sports having knowledge of the game and being able to anticipate a pass or shot can be extremely helpful.
What MacBook do I really need?
What’s up everyone. Currently in the process of purchasing a new laptop and will be switching to Mac. I’ve been windows my whole life and my previous laptop had a ryzen 9 and 6800hs paired with 24gb of ram. I need a machine capable of editing 4k 120p without proxies with the occasional 6k or 8k at 24/30p. Right now I’m looking at the M3 Max with 36gb of memory but curious if I even need that with Macs being so powerful and unified memory. What do you guys all use and what’s your experience editing video on the machine?

@Tony Bottone that was a fun one that I was stoked to be a part of! Media Bolt Productions did a great job on that one and I was super stoked to have that as my first ever film set experience outside of high school!
