What is your purpose for skating

Gm sk8 family hope your week going well? My reason for skating weight loss. Since I've been skating I loss some weight. It a real workout. The drilling or just skating in the park messing around is fun for me. What your purpose for skating ?

It puts a smile up my face everytime. So much fun and joy. It feels like swimming or flying maybe. And resilience, because every fall, and every getting back up again it's hard but also makes as humble.

1. What is your favorite part about this group? My fav part is learning when I feel the need, to be able to watch your videos. It's inspiring. Also it's a big challenge everytime. Keeps me motivated. Thank you very much! 2. What is the biggest problem this group has solved for you in your skate journey? The biggest problem this group has solved for me is the feeling of isolation, lonelyness. I have my face to face groups in Buenos Aires and I absolutely adore them all. But, for me, to be able to comunicate with you guys, learning and sharing with you, also trying to practice my english (lol). It gives me courage to dream about skating in other parts of the world.

Halloween Skate?

Anyone participating in a Halloween skate this month? If so, what will your costume be? I'm reusing an "Earth goddess" costume I had from a photo shoot last year. The dress has long flowy sleeves that I think will look amazing on skates. My home rink is having back-to-back Halloween theme nights, so I don't know if I'll do one or both. I'm tempted to do both just to get my money's worth on the alterations I need to make the dress skate-ready. 😑

No more floor tax 🤣

So am learning transition forward to backwards but my skate instructor aka sk8mafiahighrollers. Want me to learn to spin . I refuse to pay more floor tax Am still healing from the last one. 🤣 Am a older woman my bones are not like they once we're It not easy healing. So I saw some butt pads Am going buy some .

Skate Move Breakdown Suggestions?

give me any and all ideas y’all have for moves you would like to see thoroughly broken down and I’ll start knocking them off the list. You can send a video of someone else doing it or you attempting it or simply write your response here.

@Nikki Wilson try putting all your weight in one leg, and open it to the side. When you can move like this (with the other feet following) try the same on the other leg. When you feel confortable doing this moves, then you will be able to combine them and do the turn, lifting one feet first to show the way to the other.
