New Reader Assistant Service Slots Are Now Available
We’ve been able to increase the capacity of our Reader Assistant Service, and a few new slots are now available. This is especially important for those of you who contacted us a few weeks ago and were added to the waitlist because there were no available spots at the time. The service has been very well received by the members already using it, and we’re happy to open it again to more BookVillage users who want to save time by delegating their assignment workflow safely. The Reader Assistant Service helps you delegate the manual work behind your assignments, so you can keep completing assignments consistently, accumulate active promotions, and use them for your books, without relying on random Virtual Assistants or risky outside services. A key part of this service is that each Reader Assistant works with one BookVillage user only. This is not a mass automated system, and it is not a pool of random freelancers shared across multiple users. The service is intentionally structured this way so the workflow can remain more organized, more consistent, and easier to supervise. That is also why availability is limited. We do not plan to scale this service beyond a controlled level. Quality, supervision, and safety matter more than accepting everyone. So if you want to use the service, please don’t wait too long. New slots are available now, but they will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. You can read the full explanation here: 👉 Click Here to Read the Full Reader Assistant Service Guide To request a slot, email us at: [email protected] Use this subject line: READER ASSISTANT SERVICE If you were previously added to the waitlist, or if you already know you want to delegate your assignments safely, this is the right moment to contact us. BookVillage is your ally.

Yes, it’s very good. Giving it a break for now, but I haven’t had any issues with it.
Why giving 4 stars with no constructive feedback?
Hi all. I've been noticing a trend most recently where authors leave a 4-star review on my book but without offering real constructive feedback. All of the ones on my case are from UK. It' very frustrating because I don't have anything to do to improve my book and my listing gets hurt. What are the motivations from people to do that?

@Omar Lopez interesting stuff! Thanks for sharing!

@Kate Hackett Oh no, that's horrible. I feel for you. I really do. Honestly, if people are doing this to other fellow authors for selfish reasons (because, somehow, they think their account is safer like that), it's not only horrible, but also a sure way to break the system. I have literally been terrified to request reviews lately. In any case, I want to believe this will not become a trend... because if it does, it will not benefit anyone.
Help Us Take BookVillage to the Next Level
It’s time to start pushing BookVillage much harder from a marketing perspective. We keep seeing influencers promote certain services in ways that honestly don’t make sense anymore, especially considering the serious structural issues those platforms still have. Your support has always been a key part of what we’re building, and growing the number of users will allow the system to work even better, keep everything more balanced, and give us the ability to expand the team so we can develop new features faster. BookVillage is still only at around 30% of its final stage, and what’s coming next depends a lot on how fast we can grow from here. If you want to help us take this to the next level, we’re asking you to record a short video testimonial about your experience with BookVillage. Even 30–40 seconds is more than enough. You can share what results you’ve seen or what makes the platform different in your opinion. Send it to [email protected]. And as always, in true BookVillage style, we make sure to reward the users who support us.

Sometimes, it's not that they are being "dishonest," but they're probably not being 100% transparent. There could be some vetted interest in their recommendations.
🏆 BookVillage Contest — We Have a Winner
I’ve decided that in this case we will have two winners. The mentorship call goes to @Laura Diaz and @Yannick Di Mondo Both of them have been supporting BookVillage since the very beginning and have publicly shared their experience with the platform multiple times. I read many other comments and posts that were honestly beautiful and very thoughtful. Unfortunately, in a contest you still have to choose, and this time I wanted to reward two people who have supported BookVillage publicly more than once. Laura and Yannick, write in the comments what topics you would like to focus on during your mentorship session. Then contact me at [email protected] so we can arrange when to schedule the calls. If you don’t have a specific topic in mind, don’t worry. I’ll guide you. During the call we’ll look at your KDP business together, understand what the main problems are, and figure out how to solve them!

@Adriano Ferrigno These are the things I would love to go with you in that consultation (if we have time for all): 1) I'd love to have your input on Amazon ads for one of my books. Maybe we can think of ideas and strategies to push the book further with Amazon ads. It's in a very competitive niche, but I believe the book has potential. 2) Planning what books to publish until end of the year (I can share with you my ideas, and maybe we can prioritize them, and work on a plan) 3) How to integrate all the different pieces of my project (KDP is not the only thing I do) for better leverage 4) How to go faster, build better systems and work on better profitability. 5) And since you are in Europe... how to structure the business with a more-than-likely relocation to Europe by the end of the year. Let me know what you think. It's probably a lot, so we can leave some of the topics out, of course. I will (as you said) send you an email to we can schedule the consultation. Thanks again for your support

@Adriano Ferrigno Thank you so much!! So much value in the session! I'm really hopeful that the new ad strategies implemented move the needle!
BookVillage Referendum #1 – How Should We Handle This?
Over the past few weeks we’ve noticed a recurring situation on Amazon. Sometimes Amazon allows the submission of a review, but after a few days you discover that the review was never approved. In other cases the review is approved and visible, but then disappears a few days later without explanation. We analyzed the data across readers and books and there is no clear correlation between specific readers or specific books. It is important to clarify that we are not talking about suspicious reviewer accounts, VA activity, or accounts created only to post reviews. In the cases we analyzed: • the Amazon accounts continue to function normally • the accounts are not banned by Amazon • the readers correctly purchased the books in Verified Paid Purchase assignments • the readers are able to continue posting reviews on other products In other words, everything appears legitimate both on the reader side and on the author side. This issue does not only affect review platforms. It also happens to people who post reviews occasionally and even to users reviewing physical products on Amazon. From what we are seeing, this may happen roughly once every 10–20 reviews posted. For this reason, it currently appears that the cause is something happening on Amazon’s side, not related to the quality or behavior of the reader. It is also possible that Amazon is currently running internal tests or changes to their review moderation system, although at the moment we have not found any clear pattern explaining these cases. Whenever this situation occurs, we verify that both the reader and the author followed the rules correctly, and in the vast majority of cases everything appears perfectly legitimate. Before voting, please put yourself in the position of both an author and a reader, because on BookVillage you will eventually experience both situations: sometimes you will be the one posting reviews, and sometimes the one receiving them. So when you vote, try to choose the option that you believe would make the overall experience of the platform as smooth as possible.

Just to make sure I fully understand the question... these reviews get published on Amazon, but then they disappear after a few days? Or are they posted, but never get approved?? Case 1 If the review disappear after a few days, I'm happy with option b, but I'd love to be informed as the author that's happened. Not necessarily to deduct "points" (well, sorry, not points - privileges to start a new promotion) from the reader, but just to know that's happened and how many times. Case 2 If they never get approved or published, I wouldn't consider the task as completed. If the review gets approved at a later stage though, I'd consider giving the privileges to start promo when that happens. But, obviously, that's your decision as a platform.

This is so mysterious - so far I've been very lucky that none of the reviews I've had with book village have been removed. I hope it stays that way... As I said a million times already I believe, with other platforms around 50% or more were deleted. I always thought it was due to "flagged" accounts. This remaining and mysterious 5% - I hope we can get to the bottom of it. It will really benefit everyone...
