Why giving 4 stars with no constructive feedback?
Hi all. I've been noticing a trend most recently where authors leave a 4-star review on my book but without offering real constructive feedback. All of the ones on my case are from UK. It' very frustrating because I don't have anything to do to improve my book and my listing gets hurt. What are the motivations from people to do that?

@Kate Hackett this is terrible. The only reason I could see for that is someone that is competing with you in that same niche trying to take you down, which is such a bad thing coming from another author, but it’s the only reason that comes to mind. It makes me even more scared to use this service. One way to improve this a bit could be a feature where the reviewer explains why they gave that score and can send private feedback to the author receiving the review.

@Joel Montanaro yes for sure. But I think I’d be less surprised if that was the case.
How to get picked up quicker?
Hi all! I have a new book in a topic that is a bit more unusual and scientific. And I believe that is a bit intimidating for other authors to pick up and review my book. I can already see a big difference in speed of it being picked up versus my previous book that is much more popular. Does anyone here have issues like that? Any tips for increasing chances of getting picked up for reviews more quickly when the topic is tough?

@Adriano Ferrigno yes I do focus on paid ones. I have two books in promotions at the same time and I can see the difference between the two.
Reviews with Images
Hey everyone! 😊 I just posted my first review with a few images from inside the book, and it got me thinking, do you think Book Village might support in-book images as a feature in the future? I feel like seeing actual pages or moments from the book adds a lot to a review, but I’m curious how others feel about it. Would you like to see more of that on the platform?

Photo and video reviews for paperback would be game changer. No other platform offers that.
Reader Assistant Service Is Now Available
Sorry for the delay, guys, but the pace of work here has been brutal. It’s 3 AM in Italy as I’m writing this. I’ve just finished preparing the full explanation article for the Reader Assistant Service, where you’ll find everything you need to understand how it works and why we believe this is the only sustainable way to delegate assignments safely in the long term. You can read the full explanation here: https://bookvillage.pub/wiki/new-to-bookvillage--start-here/reader-assistant-service I’m extremely curious to hear your opinion about this new approach. The goal is to give you a way to save time while still receiving very high-quality reviews, without falling into the trap of many questionable services out there that charge similar prices but deliver, at best, 20% of the quality. So go ahead and break the comments section with your thoughts, questions, and feedback. BookVillage is your ally.

@Adriano Ferrigno ok thank you. I'll send some examples to support.

@Adriano Ferrigno I went back and checked all of them again. And you are right on the em dashes. I got confused. What really threw me off were the semicolons and some sophisticated words and phrase constructions here and there that are not really natural and compatible with what I write reviews and what I read from others. But that's ok, we don't need to go back and forth on this. Anyway, thanks for checking.
