raising capital or structuring for investors?
šŸ’œ Hey Everyone , excited to be part of this community! I’m LaTosha Holbrook, founder of Life Is A Style CafĆ© a cannabis-infused wellness cafĆ© where we’re blending health, ritual, and technology. One of the unique things I’m building is integrating AI tools for healing and self-care, so people experience not just a cafĆ© but a lifestyle of wellness and innovation. I’m in a season where I’m positioning for investment and want to connect with the right partners who see the vision of cannabis + wellness + tech coming together. Does anyone know if there’s a video that dives into raising capital or structuring for investors? I’d love to tap into those resources while I’m growing my investor strategy. Grateful to be here ready to learn, share, and keep building history together. šŸ™ŒšŸ¾āœØšŸ’œ

Great question 🌱 Starting from zero can actually be a blessing because you get to build things right from the beginning. From what I’ve learned while building my own brand, here are a few key moves: 1. Start with Storytelling, not just Sales People don’t connect with plants, they connect with people. Share your ā€œwhyā€ as a grower what makes your flower or cultivation practices unique, what values you stand on, and why you’re in this industry. 2. Content is Currency! Even if you don’t have followers yet, start creating consistent content: behind-the-scenes of the grow, educational posts about strains or terpenes, lifestyle shots that show the vibe of your brand. Think of it as planting seeds consistency makes people trust you. 3. Leverage Community Partnerships with local businesses, budtenders, and events can get you in front of real people faster than ads alone. Even a small collab (like sponsoring a sesh or vending at an event) builds visibility. 4. Ads & Paid Reach (carefully) Since cannabis is heavily regulated, you can get creative: SEO, text clubs, and influencer shoutouts often work better than traditional ads. Build an email/text list early so you’re not dependent on platforms. 5. Build Relationships First Don’t chase ā€œbuyersā€ before you’ve nurtured community. Once you have a base that trusts you, sales flow much smoother.✨ In short: Story + Content + Community = Traffic that actually converts.šŸ’œ
How to Properly Build Your Brand’s Foundation 🌿
Most cannabis brands fail not because of product quality, but because they skip the basic groundwork. A brand isn’t just a logo or Instagram page, it’s a carefully designed structure meant to last. Think of it like building a house: without blueprints, inspections, and skilled contractors, the structure won’t stand. The same applies to brands: without a proper foundation, you’re destined to fail. Here are 4 key essentials to focus on when building your brand: 1. Treat It Like Architecture, Not a Hobby Slapping a logo on packaging isn’t enough. You need proper systems, strategy, and structure that will hold up under pressure. Start with your business entity - LLC, S-Corp, or C-Corp, so you’re protecting yourself from liability and setting the right tax framework. An LLC may work for lean startups, but an S-Corp or C-Corp can unlock better deductions, cleaner equity structures, and future investment opportunities. Next, address tax planning. Even though non–plant touching brands are safe from the 280E, you’ll still need a solid accounting system to manage write-offs, track expenses, and properly structure payments to founders or partners. This prevents tax headaches and positions you for long-term financial health. Finally handle your legal compliance. Contracts, quality agreements, and IP protection (logos, trademarks, packaging designs) ensure your foundation can handle pressure. If the brand grows fast, you won’t be scrambling to fix what you skipped at the beginning 2. Define a Clear Niche One of the biggest mistakes is trying to appeal to everyone. Narrow your focus to a specific audience, understand their needs, language, and culture, and craft your message directly to them. Once established, expand strategically. 3. Build Visual and Storytelling Assets Your brand identity should include consistent design, guidelines, and storytelling. Invest in at least one strong designer for brand assets and another for daily marketing. Visuals tell your story, but consistency makes people trust it.

šŸ”„ This breakdown is so on point. I’ve been realizing the same thing with building Life Is A Style CafĆ©. It’s not just about infused drinks or a cute logo it’s about laying down the right architecture so the vision lasts decades, not months. 🌿 For me, it’s been about: - Entity & Structure: I’ve set things up with investment and scalability in mind, not just a ā€œside hustle.ā€ - Niche & Culture: We’re not trying to be everything to everybody we’re rooted in healing luxury, ritual, and cannabis culture. That makes our story clear and magnetic. - Consistency: Visual identity, storytelling, and showing up authentically online + offline is how we’re making people feel the brand before they even step into the cafĆ©. I love the reminder that it’s architecture, not a hobby. That mindset shift alone keeps me moving like a real CEO, not just a creative with an idea.
