Me: Welp, I’m down again. Scale says 209 from 240 and I’m so, so, so happy! This has been one of the hardest and most rewarding journeys ever! I don’t always want to be disciplined in my eating, or go to the gym, or drink my spring water like I should… or remember to eat enough protein. But I’m also committed to being in the best shape of my life—and it’s working‼️‼️‼️ And it feels sustainable because food doesn’t rule my life. I’m not always snacking or looking for food. I’m more focused, and it’s really helped my body confidence. Not only is the weight dropping, but I see a little shape coming in too. I realize now it’s from the weight lifting while also doing more cardio! But the weight loss is from the changed eating. I had to come to the realization that everything isn’t for everybody, so since I’ve started, I haven’t had a cheat meal. I don’t need it. I’ve had cheat meals the last 30 years. I’m going to give myself a few years to just be committed to ME. No cheating. Now, that doesn’t mean I can’t have anything good, but it means a little bite or taste is enough. It’s not worth the slippery slope. Plus, food is supposed to fuel us, not make us slaves to it. And as good as sugar is, it’s so dangerous. Here are some things I’ve learned from Rochelle T. Parks! 🤯 Your body craves what you give it. You don’t just like what you like—it’ll like whatever you feed it. This is so true!!! 🤯 Your body can’t always tell the difference between being thirsty and being hungry, so drink spring water first. 🤯 You can change your gut in 5 days with raw veggies only. For me, this was the most powerful reset and got rid of the cravings. Now, I did 14 days. By day 13 it was hard, but I didn’t crave fried or sugary foods after that. Game changer. And it made eating healthy easier while reincorporating food back into my diet. With exercise and mindful choices, I didn’t gain the weight back. 🤯 Also, if you eat clean, you don’t need to track calories. This nugget was helpful because I don’t have time, y’all! So I focus on living right, not tracking. I’m in a calorie deficit because of what I eat anyways, but I’m also burning a lot of calories from walking and weight lifting.
