Promotion Sunday
I would love to hear what everyone is doing for promotion Sunday this year. Our Pastor has asked us to do something different than our usual and I am a bit stumped. In previous years we hand out coupons to everyone in our church going "back to school" - teachers and school staff included, and we have a Kona ice truck set up after church for their coupons to be used for a free snow cone.
VBS Volunteer Handbook example
Here is last year's volunteer handbook. I am still working on this years. ALL Volunteers receive this at training, and we pretty much go through page by page. For crew leaders we do add a roster page on the back cover for them to keep track of who is there each day.

Hi! I am wondering if you have any progress on this year's training booklet? We have our VBS in two weeks and I loved how you added extra crew discussions for each day. I wanted to get some ideas from yours before I finalized mine. Obviously, no worries if you don't have it done yet. Thank you for sharing last years, it gave me a lot of ideas to update this years volunteer handbook.

@Eden McClung wow! thank you! We must have VBS the same time, ours starts on Sunday. Praying for you and your church family.
Class Age Question
I have a family who has a Daughter going into 4th grade and son who should be going into 2nd grade. They are homeschooled, mom says son is going into 3rd grade and would like them both to be in our Hang Time classroom which is 3-5th grade. Would you place the son into Hang Time with sister. We tried to explain the importance with being with kids his own age to help him find his own identity in Christ and find friendships with kids his own age. Mom is worried about him not being with sister and moving up with her. Since moms says he is going into 3rd grade homeschool she wants to move him up. What are your thought on this? I am feeling like it is possibly and anxiety thing for either or both son and mom. I want to be able to meet them where they are but also help them grow.

We let parents decide when they are homeschooled, but we are very clear they don't get to flip flop. They either choose by age or by grade in this situation, but say next year he has a friend in the lower grade he doesn't get to then decide to say he is in the a different grade because of his age, he will always be with this 3rd grade group of kids. Also, our policy is that older kids can move down in grades but younger kids can not move up, so in this instance, if it is anxiety, the sister could go to 2nd grade with him. Most parents don't like kids moving down, so it usually prevents a lot of issues.
Baptism Gift
Anyone have any baptism gifts they love? I am looking to switch up what I have been doing as I inherited it from the previous Director. Thanks!
Diaper Bag Tags
I am looking to have some diaper bag tags made with our kids' ministry logo and name on one side and a place the write the child's name on the other. I have looked at several websites, but wanted to see if any of you have tags you love and can recommend. (Bonus if you include a picture or a link! :-) )

I am not sure what system you use, but Planning Center can make each child one under a certain age that says the child's name and 'bag tag'.
