Desperately Seeking Lessons
Hello all! I have tried desperately to get lessons here in Houston but to no avail I have yet to cross paths with any instructors. I prefer and need in person lessons along with the online. It would be greatly appreciated if someone would share any info on an instructor here. Also, Mr. Allen, will you be hosting any in person lessons? Since I missed you when you were here, I will happily travel to where you are for that. Thanks in advance.

WINNERS 🥇
Ballroom Win in St. Louis 🏆✨ On January 31st, me and @Knejie Allen competed in St. Louis and brought home the WIN! I introduced ballroom and taught Knejie the style about 6 months ago! This shows hard work, dedication and consistency really pays off and not just for him, but for anyone! We’re going back to the finals in November! The energy was unmatched, and we’re so grateful for everyone who continues to support and be part of this growing community. 💛 ⬇️ Make sure to check out the Instagram post for the full video of our performance ! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DUOht_WEaKr/?igsh=MTlsZnB5ZGZhaG1vdA==

New to skating
Hey everyone, I’m new to skating and I want to purchase some personal skates. I just want to ask for some suggestions on what should I purchase? And is there a separate pair I’d need for outdoors versus indoor skating?

@John Jackson depends. if i’m street skating i like big gummy wheels like luminous if im skating a tennis court ir working on rollerdance i want more a hybrid wheel. i really like the indoor light up wheels gh sells for that purpose.

Lessons!
So I went to my lesson today. It’s nothing really structured. Mainly kids, but I can go off and get some one on one from one of the instructors. Well today they were short on “helpers” and I got recruited to help during the lesson. Teacher said that I am good enough to help out. Felt kinda good that she felt that I have progressed enough to help during lessons!

@Lisa Ray yes it’s funny how a pre-teen or teenager that is a good well trained skater becomes a leader on floor. it’s like there’s a birth age and a skate age. just yesterday i was watching 12 year olds at practice go into their spins with a fast pace i had never attempted. I “followed their plan” and found way more power in my spins. congrats on the new helper promotion!!
For Beginners
What are some good eights to learn how to slow walk “sexy walk” & backwards skate in ? I want to learn indoors for starters since I paid my concrete tax time to get use to some wood 🛼😅
