I got stuck on this one for a bit but I learned a TON from it. I decided to deploy two workflows based on this project. One was that weekly newsletter I created for #AIS Day 1, so that I get a daily brief on the most recent & relevant AI news every morning. And the second one is a similar lead scraper to what Nate ran in this example, except I'm targeting a different audience with select criteria. This was a lot of fun to work on, and I also created a skill out of it so that it's easier to build out next time 🔥

For this project, I wanted to build something I could use regularly in my personal life. I built something simple, but very useful to me. It's an English-Spanish translator. I know that Claude can already do that on its own (obviously). But the thing is that I always have to iterate a few times before I actually get what I want. This skill now knows my communication style and translation preferences, and I'm going to reformat it and upload to my Claude AI. I'm actually really excited to save time every time I need to translate something to talk to a Spanish client or family member!

This was the PERFECT first lesson. It introduced me to the basics on Claude Code & VS Code, and I already feel super comfortable using it, although it was intimidating at first. And the example workflow is actually so useful! I've been feeling behind on all the new AI news/updates and have told myself I'm going to proactively keep myself in the loop. So I decided to make daily "AI Updates" newsletter that I can read in 60 seconds every morning, and it's already been so helpful. Thanks @Nate Herk, you're a great teacher!

This was a pretty cool project. I had accidentally installed the MCP prompt incorrectly, but that worked out bc I learned the difference between running one locally vs URL. Once I got it up and running, I was able to get it to scrape a company's website and pull their branding, as Nate suggested. I can definitely see how useful a tool like this could be when doing research or prepping for a sales call.
