Thanks again Loreen for your great advice I shall give the distant trees a glaze to tone them down. God bless you, hope to meet you on the other side one day, 2 Corinthians 5:8

This painting makes me feel happy. The size of the waves and the coastline do not seem to match. I think that I would either make the waves smaller and do away with the crashing waves or make the cliffs much bigger or both. In general waves run parallel to the shore. The waves should continue on the left of the vase as seen through the window. You could also add some white breaking waves, with a tiny amount of viridian, at the bottom of the cliffs, using the pointed end of a small brush is good for applying this.
My rendition of Mt. Talbot
Although this is not complete, I thought this might be my last chance to post a painting. This work is on paper. The paper is primed with latex paint and my own homemade gesso. It is a composition of 2 of Sam’s compilations of Mount Talbot. I have not started the final highlights and details yet, especially in the water. My own critique is that sky is way to blue and not enough shadows/contrast in the rocks. (The light is coming from the right.) Also maybe too much repetition in the rocks on the left. As usual, I would appreciate some constructive feedback.

I agree with Mak about the sky and distant mountain but I like the rocks.
Escoda Lily brush
Hello. I am having a nightmare with mop brushes shedding hairs on my paintings. I bought the above expensive brush to use with water mixable oils and it’s shedding hairs all over too! Is there something I need to do with these brushes before I use them? It is so frustrating trying to pick hairs out if paint! Many thanks

I had the same problem so I contacted the seller to complain and they replaced them.
Tried out more of an impressionist style with this one.
Want to work on more brushwork and a looser style. Having a hard time with getting the lighting exactly how I want it. Any suggestions or advice?

I would suggest adding more light and shade in the trees and grasses to give it more depth. Maybe give more punch to the water lilly leaves by giving them a stronger shade of green and a deeper shade of pink for the foreground flowers which will give the painting even more depth.
