A New Creative Space For Artists After Painter’s Hub Closes 🎨
Hello everybody, my name is Robbie Allen. I’m an artist from England, and also a very close friend of Samuel Earp. I wanted to make this post firstly to say thank you to Sam for everything he’s created here with Painter’s Hub over the years. Back in 2013/2014, Sam and I shared a studio together in Queenstown, New Zealand. He was actually the first person who ever took me oil painting outdoors and introduced me to plein air painting. I’ll always have a huge amount of gratitude and respect for him, not only as a painter and teacher, but also as a friend. So before anything else, if you’re considering joining Sam’s paid art school, I genuinely recommend it. Sam is an incredible landscape painter, a brilliant teacher, and somebody who truly cares about helping artists improve. If you’ve enjoyed this community, I think you’ll get a lot from continuing the journey with him there. At the same time, I know not everybody is in a position to join a paid community right now, and with Painter’s Hub closing, some of you may be looking for another creative space to continue sharing work, staying consistent, and connecting with other artists. Because of that, Sam kindly allowed me to share my own community here. My community is called The Artist’s Path, and it’s a free Skool community focused on drawing, painting, artistic growth, consistency, sketching practice, and creative momentum. One of the main things we do is a weekly live Sketching Hour, where artists from around the world come together to draw and sketch live together. Each week, I prepare a theme and reference material for people to work from, and it’s become a really enjoyable space for artists to build rhythm, practice consistently, and interact with each other creatively. The community is open to traditional and digital artists alike, whether you’re interested in landscapes, figure drawing, sketchbooks, painting, or simply wanting more consistency and encouragement around your art practice. If any of you are looking for another supportive creative space on Skool after Painter’s Hub closes, you’d be very welcome to join us.

@Patrick McSherry 😄
Tried out more of an impressionist style with this one.
Want to work on more brushwork and a looser style. Having a hard time with getting the lighting exactly how I want it. Any suggestions or advice?

Clinton Gulch post Sam's Critique
I have implemented changes per Sam's critique. I lightened shadows in the back two-three mountains, toned down the yellow/ochre in the biggest mountain, lightened the back ridge, and lightened the sky. I also put some desaturated greens and such at the base of the concave back ridge, varied the pines on the left, and monkeyed with the snow areas. I also restated shadows in the tre-filled hill closest us. Left is update. Right is previous. Water is untouched. Any tint differences are due to lighting variance.
