When you ā€˜Find It’.
Went for a sim session yesterday with a deliberate focus on Driver consistency. And I had a big breakthrough. A grip tweak and a subtle close of the face created shots that were so pure. But, I came home and wrote down the changes, including the feel, swing thoughts and physical steps. It was had I had Cam whispering in my ear what to do to try to ensure I can replicate this next time I’m pulling Driver from the bag, lol. What do you all do to make sure those eureka moments are fleeting?

I find filming your swing really helps to visualize changes and get feedback when you are swinging well vs not. I barely practice without video feedback. It may help you remember the times you are swinging it well and make it more repeatable and consistent.
Which Pro Swing Do You Visualize
Hi all, this note is based on a bit of an aha I had today, while practicing. I do not know about you but I study professional swings in slow motion to highlight and confirm certain elements in my swing I am working. It helps also in developing a visual for me to capture. I have my favourite players that I would love to have their swing. Now I am partial to Rory Mcllroy and Xander Schauffele. Whoā€˜s swing do you like? Tiger, Jack?? While I am not in the camp that everyone has a unique swing and coaches have to customize every swing, I had sort of an aha that for different parts of your swing you need different visualizations or study different types of swings. I would break the swing into 3 components, back swing, downswing or transition, and then impact/follow through. Here is how I think my swing goes, take away is not bad close to Rory good turn, as I start the downswing I become Hulk Hogen or the Rock. I tense up gather all my strength and try to muscle my way to the ball. At impact I think I turn into the chickens from the muppets, my chicken wing is so prominent I am giving serious consideration to renaming my golf bag KFC! As you know I have been working on stopping an over active right shoulder and coming over the top. Trying to relax at the top and let the arms drop the club into the slot. I had trouble visualizing that relax šŸ˜Ž part. Then I just started slowing down my downswing, I hit the ball better and farther by slowing down. I thought be like Freddy Couples. Maybe you should look at different golfers rather than than your favourite depending on what you are working on. In the backswing, you want to be perhaps Rory Mcllroy, controlled, precise getting to the same potion at the top of the swing, then you want to be Freddie Couples totally relaxed and fluid as you start the down swing, he looks like he is falling asleep hitting the ball, then you want to turn into Tiger or Jack with great hand speed and athleticism. You can pick the golfers that suit your eye and approach.

I just want to be like tiger 🤣
Hey everyone
Hi! I am a 2 handicap trying to get to scratch. Played since I was a kid but found my love for the game in the past 3-4 years. Started out as a 16 handicap in 2022 and got down to 1.8. Happy to join this group to get over the hump and get down to 0 and beyond hopefully this year. If you want to check out my journey to scratch check out my Instagram @kd_golfs . My main struggle is approach from 20-100 yards or so. Indoors I can do it pretty well but on the course I struggle with this a lot. Hoping to work with Cam to get this dialed. Thanks! https://www.instagram.com/kd_golfs?igsh=YzloNjN0N2tiZGpm&utm_source=qr

@Chris Lancaster I think the biggest factor was actually taking lessons. I tell everyone who plays golf to take lessons. It was taking lessons, filming your golf swing, and working on technique and dialling in face and path control with trackman that made my handicap go down pretty fast. Once I learned how to compress the ball and keep the face square the game got easier. Now I think the struggle is fine tuning the small things like short game and mental aspect that is keeping me from getting down to 0
