Learned Something on In to Out Swing
Hi all Like many golfers I am constantly working on achieving and keeping an in to out swing so I do not come over the top. I learned something practicing today and used some of my high school physics. Also sometimes are natural tendencies work against you. When I start casting out and losing that in to out swing I naturally think about getting my hands and lagging elbow in tight to the body, keep everything inside in the downswing. However, when you pull the hands in centrifugal force throws the head of the club out. So the more I tried to keep things inside the worse it got. I was watching a golf instruction video and they talked about creating space for the club and hands to get through. I started to notice that if I got my hips out of the way early then this created a nice open space to bring the hands and club through, as I lead with the butt of the club to the ball and not just into my body it centrifugal force and the pendulum principle pulls the club head and shaft inside to create the in to out swing. I immediately started hitting the ball better. I am passing this along just as thought that may help others.

Help! Driver: No Distance, Heel Hits and Slice
Hi all I need your collective help with my driver. I have the same result but two different swings. One swing is an out to in swing path or casting out with a closed face angle. Example Distance: 200 Curve: 23.6 yards right (Slice) Club Path: -2.3 (Out to In) Face Angle: -3.1 (Closed) Face Contact: Heel Hit I then try to adjust to get a better swing path and I achieve it with a good In to Out Swing but face is wide open. Example Distance: 185 Curve: 91.3 yards right ( Big Slice) Club Path: 3.3 (In to Out) Face Angle: 5.1 (Open) Face Contact: Heel Hit In all cases no distance, heel hits and a slice. I thought once I got an in to out swing going I would get that nice easy draw with a centre hit but that is not the case. I will take a video next time out to post but thought I would ask for suggestions today. Please note that this only happens with the driver, all other clubs are fine with a nice baby draw. I am open to all ideas and suggestions. Thanks 😊
Spin Loft Optimization
Not sure how many of you have dove into spin loft, but it’s something that can dramatically improve ball flight and make sure you’re getting those hard earned yards relative to speeds. I’m currently trying to increase spin loft on driver as my launch angle tends to be low (around 11.5) and apex height is low as well. (75 ft avg) This results in substantially less carry than I should get if we look purely at club/ball speed, strike quality etc. Have any of you had success in dialling this in?
Pre-Season Vibes
Nothing better than having an amazing practice session where you feel like the drills and work you’re doing has actually brought you close to where you want to be. Truth be told this is probably the first season I’ve ever gone into feeling confident and comfortable out of the gate. Wishing the same for all my fellow dudes 🙏🏻
Pre-Season Vibes
When you ‘Find It’.
Went for a sim session yesterday with a deliberate focus on Driver consistency. And I had a big breakthrough. A grip tweak and a subtle close of the face created shots that were so pure. But, I came home and wrote down the changes, including the feel, swing thoughts and physical steps. It was had I had Cam whispering in my ear what to do to try to ensure I can replicate this next time I’m pulling Driver from the bag, lol. What do you all do to make sure those eureka moments are fleeting?
