I've been reviewing a PowerPoint presentation for a client this morning, on mentorship... what it is, the similarities and differences between mentorship, coaching, and sponsorship, etc. I'm particularly struck by the mutuality of the relationship... It's obvious what the mentee has to gain, but in a well-built mentorship relationship, the mentor also receives valuable things... from the satisfaction of being able to give back by sharing one's knowledge, to learning new things from the relationship as well. It also occurred to me that a platform such as this one can offer opportunities for the same kind of mutual support and learning... Thoughts?

Hi! I'm Keith Byler, and I'm a semi-retired old country doctor. I don't practice clinical medicine anymore, but I do physician peer coaching, healthcare consulting, and leadership training/coaching. I became bored in my 50's and finished a Master's degree in Organization Development with an emphasis in evidence-based coaching... so this is a nice gig for an old geezer! lol! I love to cook, and I read (and write) a fair bit of poetry. I've belonged to a small poetry circle of six that meets the first Saturday of every month... we've been at it for about 20 years now! I live a quiet life on Dunlap Lake with my Australian Shepherd, Brady. I look forward to getting to know everyone better!
