I started work on my project in Waynesboro, GA. This is about a 3 hour drive from Lumberton, NC. I wanted about 1/2 acre of land cleared of trees and a pad for a 28 by 48 manufactured home. Here is a picture of my request. The property had already been mulched to help sell, so there were still some trees and the stumps had to be removed. I had two separate companies give me bid. Both quoted five days of work, 8 hours per day, for two men. Each bid was about $9300 to $10,500. I spoke with a local company, Crosby Land Clearing and Septic. Chris is licensed to place septic systems in GA. He and his cousin completed the job in 2 1/2 days and charged me $5500. I have told him that I would share his information to our group. Has anyone dealt with soil and erosion plans?! I’m looking at a lot that seemed pretty perfect until the code office told me I would have to get these plans done since it’s close to the lake. And does anyone know a wholesaler in northeast Ga?!? I’m between Lake Hartwell, Lake Russell, Athens and would prefer to stay around this area for now.
