Ai Week 1 - I'm doing it all....but not for me.
“The AI helped me see that my problem isn’t motivation or discipline—it’s that I’ve structured my life where I’m responsible for everything in my house, so I never have time or energy left for my own work. I know exactly what I want to do, but I keep pushing it to the end of the day when I’m exhausted. It also pointed out that I avoid hard things like finances and tough conversations, even though I know I need to face them. So the real issue isn’t that I don’t know what to do—it’s that I’m not protecting my time, not speaking up, and I’m stuck in patterns that keep me taking care of everything except my own priorities.”

Take care of yourself first and the rest will go better! Easy to say, I don't always follow it either but ...babysteps

Being in Nature and Attention
I was talking with Sage this morning about how the weather impacts my wellbeing in major ways for several different reasons and how I was hoping for warmer weather today so I could go outside to do my home work because I feel better outside. Sage then explained that there is actual science behind why the brain’s ability to focus increases when you are out in nature which I thought was fascinating: “There's a concept called Attention Restoration Theory (developed by researchers Stephen and Rachel Kaplan) that explains exactly what you experience. The idea is that our brains use two types of attention: directed attention (the effortful, "I need to focus on this" kind) and involuntary attention (the "ooh, a bird" kind). Urban and indoor environments constantly drain directed attention because everything demands it. But nature engages your involuntary attention gently: wind, birds, leaves, light shifting. That gives your directed attention a chance to rest and recharge. So you're not just happier outside. You're literally cognitively sharper. Your brain has known this your whole life. Now you know why.”

In 2014, when I had my first depression, without knowing I have ADHD, my doctor told me to make a walk in nature everyday for at least 30 minutes. It helped me a lot.

@Tracy Weiss I'm sure that being outside and especially in nature combined with movement is very good for both mental and physical health. I'm a nurse but against a lot of medication. It can help in an acute situation, but later on it's better to go outside and see a therapist,... I know people who are on antidepressiva for more than 10 years. 😱😰 There is a ot more help than only medication

@Lynn Berry here also. I had 2 or 3 jobs at the same time, always changing jobs also. And now, at 54, I know what I don't want anymore but still havent found what suits me. Good luck 🙏

Messy house
Are here other people with messy houses with lots of stuff and too overwhelmed to start or, if be able to start, ending up worse at night? Any tips how to deal with it?

@Linda Trup tonight I set a timer for 10 minutes to clean my kitchen workshop before going to bed. Looked already a bit better. But not followed the rule no screen an hour before bed 😥 Good luck !

@Lynn Berry Thank you for the tip. I heard about her a long time ago but didn't manage to follow at that time, children, work, husband who was autistic and I ADHD and we didn't know about it. But now children have grown up and are out of the house, so I should give it a new try
