Laying the Foundations for Location Freedom — Transitioning from Corporate
Hi everyone 👋 My direction is to build location freedom. This year, I’m laying the foundations to transition from corporate finance and create a non-location-dependent business. After 25 years in the corporate world, this feels like a conscious and well-timed shift. I’ve already reduced my working hours and I’m retraining while setting up my business, with the goal of completing this transition this year in a thoughtful, intentional way. For those of you who’ve already made the move (or are in the middle of it): What did you personally find hardest during your transition to location freedom? And what do you wish you had known earlier? I’d really appreciate your insights.

When trying to organise a location, independent business or way of making money, I made the mistake of I kept switching from one thing to another rather than just picking something and sticking to it. But do be honest with yourself about what you want to do or are prepared to do that you don’t hate. There’s no point trying to force yourself into some kind of working lifestyle that just isn’t gonna work for you. Best of luck.

Why I’m Worried About Thailand’s Future...
Digital IDs, biometrics, and global surveillance systems are rolling out, and headlines suggest Thailand is next. In this video, I break down whether Thailand is truly becoming a police state like the West, or if this is just another case of the government saying one thing and doing another.

I just flat out don’t listen to anything that is fear based anymore unless it’s literally impacting me immediately. Your most important commodity is your attention. Energy flows where attention goes. I’ve had so many weird things lineup in my life over the past six months things completely outside of my control. Yes, I do believe in the Multiverse. 😁 I actually can see a lot of good things happening in the world right now. Just remember the observer effect. Consciousness is primary. All of us affect our experience with our thoughts what we focus on and our emotions. From a practical point of view, I think not being overly reliant on any one particular country and being mobile is the play at the moment. Don’t worry about all this, honestly.

Before the Next Chapter Begins
As the year comes to a close, I’m noticing how much can shift in 12 months — not always loudly, not always visibly, but deeply. This year wasn’t about having everything figured out. It was about listening more closely, letting go of what no longer fits, and slowly moving toward what feels more true. Some days were clear. Some were confusing. All of them taught me something. Before we rush into the next year, I’m pausing here for a moment. Reflection question for you: 👉 What did this year quietly teach you about yourself that you don’t want to forget in the year ahead? If you feel like sharing, I’d love to read it.

I love this post. Yes, a huge amount can shift in a year. About seven months ago, I set myself a ridiculous goal and I’m not far off achieving it. Choose one thing and stick to it. Don’t try and force yourself to like something that isn’t suitable for you. Practice every day repetition is everything. You need a reliable, repeatable system. And you really do become what you think about most of the time. I cut out social media that was such a game changer. Except YouTube which I watch purposefully when I want to learn something or immerse myself in some travel or business thing I’m looking at. 2025 has been the most productive year of my life and I can’t wait for 2026. Happy New Year, everybody. 😎

How much do you need to retire?
I’m curious to see where everyone is at with their planning. Most people have a rough idea of the "Big Number" (total pot of cash) they think they need to retire here. But do you actually know exactly how much you need to earn and save every single month between now and your retirement date to actually hit that target? Or are you just putting money away and hoping it's enough? Be honest 😁

I only realised recently that retirement was going to be even possible for me. My eventual pot that I’m now aiming for ended up being about 1/10 of what I thought it needed to be because I will still be able to trade with 50% of my initial amount. So not only will that sustain me, but I can also continue adding to the other half of the pot in long-term investments. And that will only be with having to trade one day a week (which will be treated as private investing). So it’s difficult to say exactly when but within 1 to 2 years, I will have that money. I’ve only just worked that out over the holidays. I’ve also realised that I’m not sure that Thailand is going to be for me. I’m actually looking a lot closer to home. The biggest draw of Thailand honestly is the large British expat community there. So funny this happened last time I had a business too. I wanted to do all this travelling and then when it came to it, I ended up going to Cornwall ha ha.

@John K. Yes, absolutely John. To be honest, I think I’m gonna go to Italy. Will be testing it out in my couple of digital nomad years as far as my schengen Visa will allow me. Will also be seeing Thailand, Australia and French Polynesia as well. Gotta check them all out for myself. But I’m pretty certain I’m gonna settle in Italy eventually after a couple of really cool travelling years. Great food and great beaches my friend. Like Thailand but closer to home and more olive oil, LOL. 😁
Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄
I finally found enough signal to send this out! We’ve been spending Christmas week deep in my wife’s village where there is absolutely no cell service or internet. It’s been amazing to completely unplug, and I was even able to bring my mum along for the trip. I’m posting a few photos of our time off the grid below. Now that I’m reconnected... what is everyone doing for their Christmas?

Happy Christmas from the UK where I've been spending the holidays alone to keep sharpening up my trading skills. A few drinks etc inbetween of course. 4 April I'm leaving the UK, its booked lol. I honestly just didn't care less about Christmas this year even though normally I'm someone who loves it. Will be joining all of you lot travelling around very shortly... Best wishes for 2026 everyone. 😎
