Great job!
Restaurant Floor!
Hello all! I just went and did an estimate at Hideaway Pizza in downtown OKC. In the kitchen, somebody came a year ago and laid down some base epoxy/paint and put some type of silica sand or some type of grit in it. Looks terrible and is failing in spots. Hence the reason why they called me. They seem like they want to go with a flake floor. Obviously I’m gonna grind the old stuff off, but this is going to be a beast of a job. Lots of hand grinding lots of stuff to work around and have to do it at night during closed hours. Curious what you guys have done in restaurant kitchens? Products used? Flake or solid ? I’m feeling overwhelmed lol. Just want something that is going to look good, be functional for slippery area, and last them a good amount of time before resurfacing. Thank you for the wisdom!

Urethane Cement seems to be the gold standard for commercial kitchens. Has a traction additive and holds up well to thermal shock. It is a solid color also. I personally haven't installed it, just seen in person demos. Different products have different working times. Regular UC sets up pretty quick.
Question
What are some common metallic epoxy colors I should get to practice with on a small plywood board?

Grays/Silvers with Pearl are my most common color combos. Practice a white base with black veins! You will quickly see how over powering black can be lol
Finished a nice one today
Was a good day, started a bit earlier so couldn't hop on a morning call, but there's always another time , hope we get the replay . Today I did something that I have split feelings about. There was some damage on the front edge which we patched up, but with that we had to give it a bit of a grind , so didn't want to leave it without any sealant ( which I should have probably gotten ) ,so instead of just sealing it I put a light coat of clear poly...😬 now I keep thinking if that was the way to go or I shouldn't have done it , what you guys think ? Considering the flakes go up to the garage door seals, where I cut the slit along the way,the rest of the front edge is just glossy concrete now .

@Alvis Ciritis hey Alvis, slo-go is a polyaspartic product of Floorguard products. It gives you quite a bit more working time than a typical polyaspartic. Normally we have more than enough working time. Last week it was really hot and we were working in an un-insulated metal building which was basically an oven! I’ve been using their products for several years with great success! I can put you in contact with a rep if you’d like.

@Alvis Ciritis We put it down around 110-115 square foot a gallon. We’ve had really good results.
