There are a lot of articles on here that will be very helpful, Art of Manliness is another place to look and of course YouTube. However, these are only generic. Your climate, background, what you do and your personality all affect the way you dress. Fit is also key, get acquainted with a good tailor and be very discerning when looking at clothing.
Best Men’s Jackets for Transitional Weather?
Gentlemen, Although it is currently mid-winter, I’m planning ahead and refining my wardrobe for the transition into milder, wetter weather later in the year. In your experience, what is the best men’s jacket for transitional weather that successfully balances: - Classic, timeless style - Practical protection from wind and light rain - Versatility with both casual and smart-casual outfits I’ve listed several traditional options in the poll below. Please vote for your top choice, and feel free to share your reasoning, brand recommendations, or personal experience in the comments. Thank you—looking forward to the discussion.

I own two Harrington jackets, one in black and the other in red. I think they are absolutely a must have for a man's wardrobe due to the versatility and the classic styling. However, I do have a leather trucker jacket that I wear quite frequently as well.
Collars... pop or not?
So I'm of the opinion that only jacket collars are to be popped or turned up against rain, wind, snow and cold. Also, once you enter a building or residence down it goes, similar to taking off a hat I guess. I don't see people doing this much anymore or if they have a turned up collar they leave it up all the time. I'm old enough to have lived through the early 2000's heinous trend of everyone running around with the collars on their polo's popped and I see younger guys doing it again now believe it or not. What's everyone's thoughts on this?

Hey gents I have a question! I bought my first Peacoat, and I see fotos of people dressing with all buttons close and others with One button Open. Honestly I prefer all close, because is a coat / jacket, not a blazer. So I'll throw out the question here. What is the correct way to use, in your opinion?

It boils down to preference, at the end of the day it's your coat wear it how you want. My peacoat is quite thick and heavy so I actually find it easier to move with the lowest button undone and I'd wager the sailors that originally wore it did that as well .

@António Teixeira That's a very valid point. I think the "rule" is similar to a suit jacket or sport coat. From experience wearing my peacoat leaving the lowest button undone is more comfortable. Unless its as cold as a well digger's ass in Febuary, in which case everything is going to be buttoned up and likely the collar popped.

My first post and I look annoyed 😆 But it does illustrate a couple a styles that I combine together quite often. My black Master Supply Co trucker jacket (The Hardline) with a white oxford button down and a thin black tie on top. Wrangler black cowboy cut jeans, Boulet brown distressed cutter toe boots with a brown leather belt and a simple western buckle. I think it's a different twist on some classic looks and the leather trucker is a timeless design that squares the shoulders for a better profile. This is just out and about visiting some relatives today and I was caught getting irritated during a 20 minute goodbye lol. Note: the popped collar. I do it for wind, rain and cold on a jacket. I don't recommend it otherwise, lol.

@Nicholas Logan I can't do the flat cap, personally. However, my transition lenses go quite dark outside and a few people have commented on the look lol
