I miss my Vlogmas Persona
That sounds silly, I know, but I really enjoyed this series. My recap is dropping tomorrow and I’m announcing a love-theme series in February complete with Guest Stars. People loved the guest stars. I thought it was all about my purple sequin Santa hat.

@Karen Taylor I’m switching to 26 in 2026 and my road trip so soon I’ll be doing almost daily videos and speeding right along. The difference is I am prepping for the content creation by mapping it out. I won’t be flying by the seat of my pants (as much!) My numbers have gone down since Vlogmas stopped and I have to remind myself it’s ok… it’s ok… it’s ok.

@Karen Taylor yes. Views are down and there is a slowdown in growing my subscribers. It’s not a permanent thing tho, it will go up!
How much do you use VidIQ? I've just changed a bunch of titles.
I have the basic paid subscription to Vid IQ and I use it to give me basic guidance when uploading videos. To help remind me to use end cards etc. and to score my title, thumbnail and description. I was digging around in there last night and asked it for 'optimisation' help on videos on my channel and saw a lot of videos with titles that scored low (like 44/100 or 60/100). If you use Vid IQ and haven't nosied around into it much like I hadn't, it was good to float back over old videos before I had Vid IQ and swap out titles (video below is showing you how it works). I only picked titles that were true for my video and - being old videos it doesn't matter that much but while watching the new Knives Out movie it was the perfect computer job to tootle around with. Do you use either free or paid Vid IQ much and if so, what do you use it for? Signed, Major Underuser of VidIQ.

I just started using it regularly after a couple fellow creators had a lot of success from using it. No qualitative results yet.
Using video "clips" to your advantage.
Today I've committed to starting a two week trial to see how effective video clips are by releasing 1 at 11 am and one at 8 pm (9 hours between each clip). The clips I'm starting with are from videos that have higher views or considered evergreen videos. This was done by comparing lifetime and 28 day stats. My objective is to see if the clips will drive traffic to full length videos with an end screen and pinned comment (I found out that you cannot put an end screen if the clip is less than 25 secs long). The clips are more appealing to me versus a short because I get watch time from the clips, as I am not monetized. What are your observations and thoughts using clips?

I am unfamiliar with ā€œclipsā€ - something new for me to learn.

May your 2026 be filled with all the best, Rozani!
If Your YT Channel Was A Christmas Stocking………
what would you place inside of it and to whom would you give it? Where would you hang it? Let’s see….. I’d put in something sweet, something happy, something different, something to learn, a greeting card and anything else that might fit into it. I would hang it in a spot with a sign that says ā€œFreeā€. It would need to be a place that draws the most attention from someone who needs some cheer, is curious, appreciative, enjoys pleasant surprises and wants to learn more about the stocking. May your Stockings be filled with all good things that the Christmas season brings. ā¤ļøšŸŽ„šŸ˜šŸŽ„ā¤ļø

I love this, Rozani. 🤶 If my YouTube channel was a stocking, it would be filled with a candle to bring light & use in meditation; a pocket sized notebook & pen; a 5 minute sand timer, a pair of fluffy socks and a small hand mirror to look into as a reminder one may always find condos and joy wherever we look. As a bonus, and the just-right book with inspiration education. Rozani, may I please use this concept in my last videos before Christmas, taking out one item at a time (and mentioning you when I do so?)
