Wednesday Morning Skate Lesson🎥

Fanny belt
I got one of these so that I can put my keys, cash and ID so that I can be hands free. It even fits my iPhone too. I love it. I found it on Amazon. The name is Fitgriff

I’m sorry it’s called a Running belt. This has two compartments, one for the phone and ID and the other one can fit your key fob, letting with one house key. I love it. I even use it when I go food shopping.

Open book turn!
So I do them just fine at home but I freeze when I’m at the rink. But today, I actually did one! I was proud 😂 1 out of 3 attempts but a win is a win right?? Only thing is I turned and then promptly forgot how to skate backwards 😂 Guys help. What other ways can I turn around that may be less “scary” to my brain?

What do you wear!?
Curious.... what kind of skates everyone has!? I just got into skating a few months ago and got a pair of Roller Derby skates at our local sporting goods shop. I didn't want to spend alot on starter skates because I have a habit of deciding to learn something new and not following through. I fell in love. Upgraded to Sure--Grip Fame wheels and now am impatiently waiting for my size to come back in-stock of the VNLA Luna skates.

@Tereza Toledo thank you! I think I researched for a whole 2 months every day with every brand. My feeling is that if you’re going to buy skates they shouldn’t cause the boot or plates to fall apart while skating (not saying it won’t happen but I would hope that it would take a few years) so I felt that Riedell is my best choice. Also I believe I can still change the plates, kingpin etc. (I am no means an expert, i like to know that I can call customer service if there is an issue and I like to have options)

One of the prizes was an impala roller skate package lol 3 pairs with 3 sets Of wheels. A very basic starter set
