Trying to join!! Excited I finally saved it in my Google Calendar!
Question for the group
What do you think are Athletic Trainers’ strengths compared to other allied health providers? (PTs/OTs, strength trainers, EMTs, RDs, etc)

Relationships we build with our clients/atheltes. We are in such unique role and can really make change in such a different way compared to other healthcare providers who only see them for a appointment or two

@Brennon King I think it is the sideline time and just the amount of time we are with a team. If you think about it or at least for me I was traveling with , long bus rides, plane rides, day in and out practices, games and also medically taking care of them. I got to know them beyond the athlete off the field/court. I have some my athletes I have gone to their weddings, been at funerals for them, watched their kids ,etc. But Athletic trainers are such unique healthcare providers.
Recent Success?
What is something you have done lately that you view as successful? New policy/procedure that has worked well? Added a new treatment? Changed how you handled a certain injury? Excited to see where we all are growing!

We finally got USA baseball board of directors and legal team to review phase one of policies and procedures. We adopted most of them but also it’s a working process. Crazy to see that even the most basic thing in an organization can take so long for change. Fingers crossed within the next month we do a summer review and see what was successful and not successful.

@Cam Deckett mainly getting good policies in place for the sports medicine side. Not just for athletic trainers but for athlete safety. I have been working as a consult this past year and half with them. I have been really getting the physician on board to support these. Also as the standard in baseball they need to have things in place. For example concussion protocol , heat protocol,Etc. The long term goal would be to really be more involved with their education side and truly building a sports medicine model in their organization. Also, building a true medical advisory committee that coincides with the US Olympic Committee standards for them.
Hello!
Hi all! I’m new to this community and excited to be part of it. My name is Brennon King. I graduated from Concordia University, Irvine in 2013. I worked for 10 years in private high schools and covered a mix of college club rugby, rodeo, and pro beach volleyball. I then switched to industrial, working in warehousing and electrical utility. I started my sports rehab business, AthletIQ Sports Rehab, about 3 years ago. I help high level athletes get the care they need and get back to sport quicker and stronger than they were before. As I’m sure is the case for many, I struggle with raising money and marketing. My vision is to have 1-2 clinics where I currently live in the Temecula area in Southern California. Aside from all that, I’m a dad of three very active kids, my wife wants to be a homesteader and I’m training for a half marathon… so I’m doing a couple things 😂 Here’s a link to my website if interested: https://www.athletiqsportsrehab.com/
