I think most people in this community would blow up if they were just consistent. Consistency is hard, and I get that. Stephen King in his book on writing said that to become a better writer, you have to write. "but I have soccer after school" you need to write "but I have three kids, and a husband that works late hours" you need to write "but I'm in school full time and work three jobs" you need to write. Then in the book he says: Look, I don't know your circumstances, and I don't know how hard it will be for you to find time to write. But I know how to become a good writer, and to do that, you have to write.

I see a lot of people in here trying to build the machine first: the format, the upload schedule and hoping passion shows up later. It won't. A machine without passion just produces a lot of nothingness, faster. hope this is helpful, let me know if you have YouTube questions

YouTube is changing how they're counting views starting August 24. How this affects you: Previously a view was counted as soon as it hit ~30 seconds on long form So now it might look like your views are increasing but likely your amount of engaged views will be the same. (which will still be a metric you can check) What to do? Nothing. I mean it's coming, to get ready for it you should, keep uploading consistent quality content, it's literally not going to change how well a video performs, just the measurement of it. If your videos sucked before this, your videos will still suck after this, the view count will just be inflated and your drop off rates and average view durations are likely going to look a lot worse. though it's unclear if YT plans to use engaged views or total views to determine AVD as of yet Hope this was helpful
