So I wanted to start this thread for people who have bought and tried an expensive course and whether it was/wasn't worth it. NOTE: This isn't a self-promotion thread. This is one for those that have purchased a product and can give an honest review. - - -also if there's a course you're REALLY curious about, feel free to post it here, and if it's within reason I'll test it out (Not buying anyone's 2,000$ course)
Subscriptions I've tried
VidIQ - Is it worth it? Not really. The course material you get access to for premium doesn't have enough bang for buck, and there's better stuff on YouTube for free. Their analytics tools are nice, but most everyone under 1,000 subscribes would be better off just making better titles, thumbnails and videos.
If you have a company and you're trying to rank in search, I think it's probably worth it.
Their free tool is just fine for <1000 subs/to get monetized
ViewStats: - Is it worth it? Not yet. This is Mr. Beast's personally owned and made YT statistics site. It's main function is to compare outliers, and it just fails to some of the other tools on this list. If Mr. Beast fulfills his promise of adding features it might one day be worth it, but it's just not enough to be worth it right now.
1of10 - Is it worth it? Yes* *It IS kind of expensive, but I made my money back and more within 2 months of using it. It's an outlier tool that's just better than view stats. It's got idea repositories etc, and when you link your channel it does a pretty good job at recommending similar channels. It saves time when looking for outliers. I think this one is $50.00/mo so it still might not be worth it to some but I think it's probably m favorite tool on this list. There's almost always a discount code as well, just go to their YouTube and you can probably get a free month or for a dollar or something to test it out. Search 1of10 on YouTube you'll find it
Spotter Studio - Is it worth it? No. Tons of people were prepping it as an AI agent to help with thumbnails/videos and it just kind of falls flat for me. Maybe you'll have an easier time, but it's also expensive and basically is just chatGPT with some imaging built in. The ideas aren't any better, the suggestions aren't any better. Just use ChatGPT if your'e leaning this way
---- General Purpose AI tool suite ----
Image generation :
Midjourney - Meh, this one for price point really doesn't do it for me and the prompting is kind of awful in my experience
Sora - I think probably the best paid one right now for ease of use, I use it, and it's decent, little on the expensive side comes with premium GPT
Perchance.org - this one is free and you can generate as many images as you want. CAVEAT HUGE CAVEAT, DONT GET THIS WITHOUT READING: This is a NSFW generator by nature, so you'll need to adjust the settings so that it doesn't get you something weird - it's mostly good for animate/2d images, in my experience it's struggled at recreating a human persona like my own face etc. Google Pixel - Free - pretty good, I'd use this one if you don't want to pay anything to just kind of test out prompting etc

Voice Over
ElevenLabs - This is truly the only one out there even close to worth it, and still most people can tell if you use it. So if you don't mind that it'll sound a little like AI this is the one to go with. Niches that it's fine for "Reddi sleep stories, shorts faceless, explainer vids etc - what I WOULDN'T use it for. Any niche where YOU are the niche, or any podcast
Video Generation
I haven't found a good cheap one, so if you know one drop it in the comments. Most ones give you like 10s of movement, and they're always pretty janky
Music
I like Suno, I have a ton of personal projects, and with the pro plan I never run out of credits. This can also be great if you don't like the YouTube Music Library but still want copyright free music, just make it lol.

Course I want to try but haven't yet
Viralish with Adley Kinsman - it largely looks like a scam, but she's had good marketing and so I kind of want to put it to the test
Viral VFX bundle with Tyler Tometich - looks fun, but I don't think the juice will really be worth the squeeze, but for just around $100.00 I think I'd be willing to give it a test go
If you have a course you've wanted to try, list it below and maybe someone in the community has tried them before - - - I'll be making a PDF with all this information in it so you can download/print it
