Today was softball practice, and before she even left, I had one of those moments where I realized… my Mini Me really IS watching me. As she was getting ready for practice, I watched her pack her bag the same way she sees me prepare for my workouts: 💦 water with electrolytes 🥭 fruit jerky 🍪 Cookies & Cream Stingers 🌾 rice crackers 🍊 Cutie orange I didn’t tell her what to pack. She just did it on her own. And I stood there thinking, Wow… she has learned so much just from watching me. Then at practice, another win — today she learned how to bat with the correct form! 🥎 She’s learning how to move her body, build her skills, and become stronger in her sport. But the moment that really got me happened after practice when I picked her up. Instead of the usual, “Mom, I want food,” she said: “Mom, I’m hungry and I need something with lots of protein.” RIGHT THERE. 😂🥹 All those broken-record conversations we have in the car about protein, hydration, fueling your body, recovery, and eating for what you’re asking your body to do… they really have been sinking into her brain. And that’s the ripple effect. ✅ First, she watches me prepare. ✅ Then she starts doing it herself. ✅ Then she begins understanding why we do it. Sometimes we think the healthy habits we’re building are only changing us, but our kids are watching. They hear the conversations. They notice the preparation. They see the choices we make over and over again. And eventually, those little lessons start becoming their own choices. Watching her grow in her sport while also learning how to fuel and take care of her body makes this mama so proud. Lead by example long enough, and one day you realize they’ve been learning the whole time.
