The One Word That Will Shape Your Year
This past year changed me. Not just professionally—but personally, spiritually, and emotionally. I didn’t just step into a new role at North County Christian School. I stepped back into myself. So, my word for 2026 is RECLAIM with a side of STEWARDSHIP Reclaiming my voice but Stewarding my words Reclaiming my calling but Stewarding my superintendency Reclaiming my leadership but Stewarding my intentional actions Reclaiming my health, my connection with God, and my relationships with the people I love. It's about STEWARDSHIP of everything that God has entrusted to may care. This isn’t about starting over but returning to what always mattered. My Gifts. My Talents. My Relationships. My Health - Physical and Mental But MOST importantly my relationship with God. Here’s to a year of intentional leadership, steady growth, and stewarding what God has entrusted to me. RISE is my word. This year has been quite a challenge as a district leader. Not as a slogan—but as a discipline. Rise because I'm past proving. Rise because the work is heavy and you have to carry it anyway. Rise because momentum isn’t loud—it’s sustained. In 2026, Rise means: - Rising early to the hard decisions others avoid - Rising steady when pressure, politics, or noise try to knock you off center - Rising others, not just outcomes—leaders, systems, culture - Rising above urgency and choosing purpose over reaction - You’ve already done the surviving.2026 is about ascending with intention—no drama, no bravado, just quiet, relentless climb. So in 2026, I rise....
📣 BIG News📣
I’m thrilled (and still a little in awe) to share that I’ve officially been named the Superintendent of North County Christian School! 🙌🏽 This new chapter is more than a career move—it’s a full-circle, God-ordained moment that reminds me how faithful He is, even when the path doesn’t look like what we expected. Sometimes God shifts us off the track we were so sure about—not to delay us, but to develop us. To strengthen our skills, sharpen our focus, and bring us back into alignment with His purpose. And now, I can see how every twist, turn, and detour prepared me for this moment. I’m also excited because this role doesn’t replace my heart for coaching, leadership development, or the Empowered Pathways mission. It actually deepens it. Leading a school while continuing my consultancy work allows me to stay connected, do the work with others—not just for them—and continue creating tools and trainings that are rooted in real, lived leadership. I’m still here. Still cheering for you. Still walking with you. And now—walking into a God-sized assignment with a bigger toolkit and an even deeper “why.” Thanks for being part of this journey with me. Love y’all big. 💜 #EmpoweredEducator #NextYes #GodAlignment #FaithFilledLeadership #SuperintendentSeason #ConsultantAndLeader #LeadOnPurpose

Like the mafia, you try to get out but they pull you back in! Congrats!
What are you reading?
Happy Wednesday! I’m all about personal growth, so I’m usually deep into a book that’s helping me level up. But let’s be real—I’m more likely “reading” it through my earbuds. 😄 Of course, I balance it out with a mystery novel for fun—because who doesn’t love a good twisty plot? What’s on your reading list? Or should I say, your listening list?

I just finished up "Dare to Lead" by Brene Brown. Excellent book that works well with my next read, "5 Dysfunctions of a Team" by Patrick Lencioni. Both are great leadership books that translate well to education.

My word this year is "trust." I am using it with my entire district as well as myself. I need to build trust with others as I engage in a new role and I also need to trust myself. I find myself not trusting my instincts or my skill sets. I want to work on improving the imposter syndrome I "gift" myself. Right now its a start but I feel like I am gaining momentum.
Welcome! Introduce yourself + share a pic of yourself 🎉
