What's your familiarity with AI?
A few days ago, I had a friend (mid-60s) tell me that she knows absolutely nothing about AI. She doesn't get it. She uses ChatGPT every now and then to ask it questions, but doesn't know what's special about it. It just feels like a slightly different version of a Google search. That gave me the opportunity to explain it to her, which was a challenge and a delight. I have a YouTube channel that specializes in AI, but sometimes I forget that there's an audience that may not be using it yet, or is but doesn't really get it. If you could answer the poll based on your experience, I would be open to teaching a class going over the basics or how and why everyone should be using it. Drop a comment down below if you'd be interested in attending.

@John van Gurp Aha, no worries. That's part of the fun. I work in the software development industry, where we have teams of individuals who contribute to creating custom software for companies. It's a very expensive endeavour. It costs tens, if not hundreds, of thousands to build custom software. Now that we can leverage AI for software development, it has reduced the barrier to entry. You yourself could create a product on the weekend. Imagine you had an idea, a tool that checked YouTube views and compared them to Facebook activity (just as an example). It's something that doesn't exist; you could ask AI to create it for you. You don't need a team or thousands of dollars anymore to solve a specific problem using software. It's quite exhilarating.

@Krista Krista I feel like I've hit a bit of a nerve ;) What I meant by my post is that when your agent is doing the mundane tasks, such as research, you can focus on what really matters. Understanding and delivering the content. Or, even more important, the time you'd be spending researching, you could be learning something else, none related that you wouldn't have time for. For me, editing my YouTube videos is the bane of my existence. My most recent video took me 8+ hours to edit, while I was on vacation. If I could speed up that process using AI, or hiring someone else to do it, I would really rather enjoyed that time on the beach with my family. I believe AI can give you more freedom to do the things that matter.
First Video today
Okay friends, I just posted my first video for my channel. @livefitknit (Live as in "I live in Florida") As Karen said the first ones are gonna suck, but I'm glad to took the first step.

@lucyonlife’s viral 14K video & channel growth!
Congratulations @Lucy Caldicott for making this important video that’s resonating big time with viewers. And your channel growth multiplied 5 or 6 times in the last few weeks too since then? Please tell us how you came up with the idea and what this experience has been like. Did you get any inspo for your thumbnail or just come up with it yourself? Well done you! 👏

Implementing Feedback: My Channel Transformation
As promised, here is what 2 channel reviews taught me about my channel and the changes I've just made. Our channels are living breathing things and constantly evolving so these changes aren't perfect but they are progress in the direction I want to go. One review was at VidSummit: a 20 minute free consultation by a member of the 1of10.com team. They also have a YT channel @ 1of10pod. The other review was by Claire Sara when she was offering free reviews to some of her newsletter subbies. Her channel is @ ClaireSara and she makes really cool vids. Their feedback rang true with me so I was excited to implement their suggestions. As is my usual scrappy style, here is the email I sent to Claire to let her know I had taken action. I need to tighten up ‘YouTube Over 40’ niche. When people look at my channel it isn't clear exactly what my channel is about. Is it vlogs? Superheroes? (actually it is!) YouTube growth tips? Look to use YT community posts area Post posts more frequently Look at livestream comments for clues on videos to make. What problems are people trying to solve? Do relatable updates on anything for YouTubers Over 40 that I have found helpful because others will find this info helpful too I own some tech so make easy to follow videos how to set it up and use it (the kind of video I love) Reinstate 'Home' page tab that is first on our tabs when we go to a channel - can use this to put the most recent video in there or an intro video Can put posts in the Home page! Look into this Don’t be afraid to repeat things I have made in a different way Don’t be afraid to make videos about things like updates - it doesn’t matter that Kevin Kolbe made a video about YouTube updates or whatever. If there are 5 YouTube updates I am excited about and will use, I can make a video about that (and then use them) PROBLEM: It is unclear what my channel is about, is it a vlogging channel is it about YouTube growth? ACTION TAKEN: Unlisted all 10 of my non-niche videos (personal vlogs, Deadpool, eggs for breakfast…

@L T Yup! I'm doing it. Just created the @JohnnyCTO YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@JohnnyCTO Moving over all of my AI education content over here and then I'll turn back on my tech stuff on the original channel.

@L T Good to know about the music. Thanks for checking it out! I struggle with the decision to add music to my videos.
AI Tech Playground
I just fired up a brand new 2nd YouTube channel for content specific to AI generated content here: https://www.youtube.com/@AITechPlayground I'm really trying to niche down to find the 'right' audience, so that I can then later sell them specific products that they'll align with.
