Where do you find the time?
Not posting this for answers but instead venting frustrations and would love to hear others stories on how you do it. For example me , 8-5 M-F working for the man, first responder to major weather events which may include weekends. I work with my dad every Saturday either on someone’s LT/LS engine or our c10 trucks 64,65,66 , Sunday is reserved for family/friends and car shows. I also created content for my small but loyal YouTube channel which takes a tremendous amount of time and effort. I have been working on my 66 c10 for 3 years now and I am at what I would say is the final push, but lately I can’t even touch the truck. I am too busy working on other peoples stuff which is a good problem to have but dam. I have everything I need to finish what I consider as a bad ass patina truck and have done everything myself and I mean everything. I will throw in a few pics but would love to hear from others on how you do it or make the time for your own project.

You would think you have the time to work on your car when your retired like I am but always something to do even when your retired. Something to fix or install around the house, lawn care, etc, etc. I am a novice at this build stuff but I take my time and seek advise when I want to try and do it myself. Time flies by so use it wisely.

How many of you have done some custom colors under the hood to make the engine bay pop?

powder coated OEM valve covers and timing cover. Was maybe thinking red for the FAST intake and the red coil packs with red plug wires. Make it pop with red I think.
Speartech harness and ECM location 67 Nova
Speartech harness and ECM location 67 Nova Hello all, I am looking for some guidance for installation for my ECM in relation to my wiring and would like maybe a guide how to approach the easiest way to complete this task. I have a wiring setup using the route 22 from American auto wire within the glovebox for easy access. I built a frame to hold the fuse box out of half inch square tubing and mounted it under the dash. This version 1.0 with the small block Chevy. I would like to build a similar frame to put next to or parallel to the fuse box for the ECM for easy access for LS1 version 2.0(drive by cable speartech 98-02) I will plum the spear tech wiring for the ECM through the hole of the firewall where the heater fan goes with the grommet provided. Plans are to use a Mojave electric heater if needed for defroster and AC once I get to this stage. The key here is to get the motor started and broken in and a tune to run the car during the break in process. Any ideas or pitfalls to avoid when I am ready to take this on would be appreciated. Thanks Joe

Starting to run the wiring through the fan opening with 2 1/8 grommet. Hanging ECM inside the glove box some how. Maybe build a tube frame like I did for RT22 fuse box. Will place diags port in the glove box for easy access. I think this will not be as tough as actually tuning it. Speartech has put in a stock tune from a 97 corvette LS1 but this likely will not do it since the cam is much larger but I need to find the cam card I have misplaced it somewhere. I do not want to undo the timing cover to get the serial number off the cam to get the specs. Still searching. Need correct fuel injectors and to put in aerodyne tank with pump and run forward and return 3/8 fuel lines and regulator. The easy part for me I believe is this part and install of the build. I probably just jinxed myself. The hard part will be the tune cause I am in the weeds with this part of it but willing to learn. I have help so as soon as I get my act together to install this. the sooner it get started and broken in.
