I got my book today!
WOW! It's no longer an idea, or a concept. It's a book! I'm ready for this next phase of my life. I wouldn't have been able to do this the help of my friends at BookLaunchers!

Book cover comparison - what do you think - which sells more?
Yesterday, I received a layout from 100 covers (found them in the ALK). At first, I said no. But it is growing on me. I have attached a png of both. One thing they did not do was to add the spine info on both the front and back sides because a staple binding for a thin book (58 pages) is much cheaper and this info does not fit well on a perfect bound paperback. A hardcover spine for libraries is wide enough. Their layout does not accommodate this information but could be adjusted for this. So, what do you think? Artsy and not informative or informative but not artsy? Note: honest is much more helpful than nice. Thanks.

I love the first one. The body on the cover gives viewers a look at the body that matches up with their expectation. The other saves me money... why buy the book when all I have to do is stop-eating carbs...

I'm sure the content is excellent. It's just that the second cover oversimplifies what the book is about. Full disclosure here: This is the opinion of someone who has never sold a book in their life. However, I have purchased books and know that I would not have any interest in the second option.
Book Awards - What Other Questions Do You Have?
HAPPY 250th America!! 🇺🇲 By request ... I am going to prep a video on how to assess whether a book award is worth your time/effort/money. When I do that video ... what other things would you like me to cover beyond what is in this video?

I couldn't help but notice, but you didn't use the words "if you win". Does this mean that everybody wins? Asking for a friend...

@Julie Broad Hmmm... Okay, I'll bite. Which one would be the most prestigious?
Asking AI for an opinion on my book from a publisher's perspective
I ran my book through most (5) of the AI platforms and was really pretty happy with the results. I wrapped it up by asking them to think like a publishing house and give an honest review. Here's what the average score they came up with... Publisher Scorecard Category Score Market Need______________________9.5/10 Author Credibility__________________9/10 Originality_________________________8/10 Commercial Potential______________8.5/10 Organization_______________________8/10 Editing Readiness__________________7.5/10 Institutional Sales Potential_________9/10 Amazon Discoverability_____________7/10 While I certainly wish they were all 10/10, this is my first time writing a book. I now know what to work on...

@Rob Cole I'm really not worried about what they came up with. The real opinions that matter will be sales, or lack thereof.
